Just pulled out of a barn where it sat for 20 years! A fuel line, battery, and she starts and runs well. Originally had a 289, was fitted with a built out 390 and bigger transmission in the 1980s, driven little until 1996 when the pinion went on the stock 8 inch rear and the car was put away. Was started every once in a while in storage. Pinion is still bad, car starts right up but cannot be driven until the rear is repaired. Has air shocks in the rear to lower and raise the rear end. Interior is excellent, missing front carpets only, and the floors show nothing but slight surface rust. Almost completely rust free, except for one area behind the passenger side door down low, and a little bubbling on the pillar above the passenger door. Roof was dented from a barn collapse, and will need some bondo and paint, the rest of the paint is excellent. Tires are dry rotted, hold air, but need replacement. Minor surface rust underneath the car, not much. Fuel tank was replaced when the engine was changed, on either side of the fuel tank are metal panels that look to have some minor rust-through. Rear bumper and exhaust tips are aftermarket ones and are rusty. Front bumper is great. Car looks great, NOT a rust bucket. if you repair the rear and touch up the roof, you can drive it as is, but I think it is more likely the next owner will do more with it. Engine fires right up, but the metal fuel line from the tank had a blockage, and has been followed with a flexible line, just to get the car running, a more permanent fix would be easy. Engine was seriously worked...has a Megacam, Holley double pumper carb, holly manifold, and much more, reputedly over 500hp, but was made to be streetable, the idle is lumpy but it will idle forever. Passenger's seat needs to be bolted down all the way, some of the nuts that go underneath were missing. Mileage of 24k is beleived to be true and accurate, For real.It's the real deal here, it's not a project car, but one that needs just the rear end repair(and maybe brakes, have not tried them) to be drivable. Lights and horn and wipers work. Aside from the engine change, and body and paint work done back in the eighties, it is essentially untouched.Terms are deposit via paypal within 48 hours and the balance in CASH when you come to pick up the car within seven days. It will need a flatbed. Please...do not bid unless you have the cash on hand, and understand you are BUYING a car, not the right of first refusal, or a holding spot...we just got a negative feedback from a guy who never paid for a car but strung us along...the next guy showed up promptly with full payment and is delighted with the car...soooo....if you are not serious, don't take up my time or yours, the car is awfully sweet and will make someone very happy, but you do need to have the money in hand and the ability to follow through promptly. The wheels are American Racing Torque Thrust D's.
