Up for auction is this beautiful 2003 Maserati Spyder. I am selling it regretfully because I need to downgrade to a practical small car. My intention was to trade it for a Fiat 500 and I still have that option, but I thought I would try Ebay first. I took it to the local Maserati dealer and they gave it a thorough checking over and found that it had no evidence of any bodywork or paint work. They found that it had a good service history at a Virginia Maserati dealer and were impressed with its mechanical condition. They noted the sticky buttons (happens to ALL of them)-cosmetic and easily fixed. In addition to sticky buttons, these 4200 Maseratis are known to eventually need a new heater core. This was recently replaced and it also got a new clutch, flywheel, F1 sensor, and thrust bearing. It had a complete fluid service in March of this year and only has 1000 miles since. The Michelin Pilot Sports have plenty of tread remaining. I have receipts for the work done. The previous owner installed a full after-market performance exhaust system that sounds awesome. The sound of the Ferrari-built engine is spine-tingling. Other improvements are sport springs that lower the car and firm up the handling. In my opinion, the stance is perfect and the look is worth it alone. The car is cosmetically very nice, but it does have a few small scratches and the driver seat has a scuffed area on the side bolster. The convertible top looks like new but for small wear spots from raising and lowering. They all do it. My Buy-it-Now price is very reasonable when you consider the new clutch , heater core, and the overall condition of the car.
