Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1923 Doctor's Coupe. I was restoring a rare 1919 Coupe that was a basket case, and purchased this T as a reference vehicle to aid in assembly. This T was also used to practice driving in the lot behind our building. The vehicle runs, and the body is very solid. Over its life, the T probably went through several restoration attempts, and certain parts like the front fenders were completely restored, looking as good on the underside as they do on top. The rest of the paint is presentable. Some work was done on the doors in an earlier phase, and the fit is not well done, but a door is easy to pull. The glass is all in place, and the tires are five Firestone All Whites with essentially full tread, with the spare never having been used. A good vehicle for riding around, or a solid vehicle for a phased, or complete restoration. My 1919 Coupe was completed and won First in Class at the Old Car Festival at Greenfield Village last month. A photo is enclosed, with Matt Anderson, the Curator of Transportation at The Henry Ford presenting the Blue Ribbon. The 1919 Coupe is one of four known Ts that were modified at the Ford Experimental Lab, and only two have survived. Besides mine, the other was Henry's personal T that he drove from 1919 til 1931. Henry donated his to the Museum in the 40's. My T is attributed to Frank Kulick, Henry's fearless race driver. For transport we have often used Reliable Carriers (closed transport), for shipments from Hershey or Amelia Island. They are specialists in automotive transport, and are only a few miles away from where the vehicle is kept in Livonia Michigan. Vehicle can be inspected through the end of auction. Their number is (800) 521-6393, or you can select a carrier of your choice. Pickup hours would be weekdays between 9AM and 3PM. Vehicle will be sold with the Bill of Sale.
