I know I will hate myself later, but the time has come to part with my beloved PD. Purchased from the original owner in 2012 and kept in pristine condition to date. A family member bought the bike in Montana, and with the short riding season, put less than 12,000 miles on the bike. It has as some mild upgrades that make it a safe and comfortable cruiser. Jesse bags were installed and a larger windshield for long trips. Progressive shock and Browns side stand make such a difference. Corbin dual seat is a must on these bikes and I also include the original two-tone solo seat with subframe. Comes with full original tool kit. The correct circlip upgrade was made to the transmission at 10,000 miles (detailed receipt for $891.50 from Bob's Motorwerks), splines were lubed last year. Front brake lines are replaced with stainless steel. All fluids are recent and tires have less than 200 miles on them. It runs and drives like an 18k mile bike should - this BMW is ready to be driven anywhere you are capable of riding. There is a recent expansion in the popularity of the Adventure Touring market; this is a unique piece of history held by BMW. When I bought the PD the stripes were the standard "gravel" graphics that I grew to hate. So I sent the tank off to a local LA custom bike shop for a re-creation of the 1989 Paris Dakar scheme. They nailed it. Stripes are painted, not decals and they made the bike look like the true PD that it is. It is a great candidate for a fly in and ride home trip, I would not hesitate to cross country on it today. These original PD's are getting scarce and there are few in this condition.
