I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 1997 Mercedes-Benz S420 with just 61k original miles. I would rate the exterior of this S420 to be in EXCELLENT CONDITION for its age and mileage. Finished in white, this S420 looks absolutely stunning. The finish has a mile deep shine and looks as smooth as glass from front to back. Pride in ownership shows throughout this Mercedes. I won't go as far as saying that it is flawless, but you'd have to be pretty picky to find anything on the exterior worth complaining about. The self closing vacuum doors all work properly. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The body cladding is all intact and shows well, not faded from age like lesser quality examples. The original alloy wheels shine beautifully and are wrapped in a nice set of rubber with good tread all around. Please take your time and check out each of the photos to see how exceptionally clean this S420 looks. I would also rate the interior of this Mercedes to be in EXCELLENT CONDITION for its age and mileage. The W140 chassis offers an optimal blend of modern comfort, reliability and safety with just the right amount of classic Mercedes style and simplicity. As you'd expect, the interior shows very well. The door cards are clean and tight. The carpets are clean and full looking throughout the interior. The leather seats also show well and are very comfortable. Both front seats are power operated and heated. The wood interior veneers show well and indicate that this Mercedes has most likely spent her life tucked away in a garage and used sparingly. The power windows, mirrors, seats sunroof and central locks all work properly. The climate control system is fully automatic and offers independent settings for the driver and passenger. The heater works properly and the air conditioner will freeze you out of the car. The original Becker stereo has been upgraded with an aftermarket CD player and speakers...which sounds amazing. I usually prefer my Merc's in their original form, but I will admit that I often find myself driving this S420 just for the stereo. Again, pride in ownership shows throughout this W140. Mechanically, this Mercedes appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 4.2L V8 starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine doesn't smoke. Her road manners are good. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. The steering and brakes feel good, too. She keeps perfect temperature and keeps excellent oil pressure. There have been no idiot lights on. The engine makes good power and feels strong. The automatic tranmission engages smoothly and shifts perfectly. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with no complaints. If I'm being picky, you can feel a slight vibration in the wheel on occasion at highway speeds...but not a big deal or anything that would keep me from driving the car. With just 61k original miles showing on the odometer, this is probably one of the lowest mileage W140's on the market...and it is being sold with NO RESERVE so bid to own. If you've been looking for an exceptional W140 car, this S420 deserves your serious consideration. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction.
Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 1997 Mercedes-Benz S420 with just 61k original miles. I would rate the exterior of this S420 to be in EXCELLENT CONDITION for its age and mileage. Finished in white, this S420 looks absolutely stunning. The finish has a mile deep shine and looks as smooth as glass from front to back. Pride in ownership shows throughout this Mercedes. I won't go as far as saying that it is flawless, but you'd have to be pretty picky to find anything on the exterior worth complaining about. The self closing vacuum doors all work properly. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The body cladding is all intact and shows well, not faded from age like lesser quality examples. The original alloy wheels shine beautifully and are wrapped in a nice set of rubber with good tread all around. Please take your time and check out each of the photos to see how exceptionally clean this S420 looks.
I would also rate the interior of this Mercedes to be in EXCELLENT CONDITION for its age and mileage. The W140 chassis offers an optimal blend of modern comfort, reliability and safety with just the right amount of classic Mercedes style and simplicity. As you'd expect, the interior shows very well. The door cards are clean and tight. The carpets are clean and full looking throughout the interior. The leather seats also show well and are very comfortable. Both front seats are power operated and heated. The wood interior veneers show well and indicate that this Mercedes has most likely spent her life tucked away in a garage and used sparingly. The power windows, mirrors, seats sunroof and central locks all work properly. The climate control system is fully automatic and offers independent settings for the driver and passenger. The heater works properly and the air conditioner will freeze you out of the car. The original Becker stereo has been upgraded with an aftermarket CD player and speakers...which sounds amazing. I usually prefer my Merc's in their original form, but I will admit that I often find myself driving this S420 just for the stereo. Again, pride in ownership shows throughout this W140.
Mechanically, this Mercedes appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 4.2L V8 starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine doesn't smoke. Her road manners are good. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. The steering and brakes feel good, too. She keeps perfect temperature and keeps excellent oil pressure. There have been no idiot lights on. The engine makes good power and feels strong. The automatic tranmission engages smoothly and shifts perfectly. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with no complaints. If I'm being picky, you can feel a slight vibration in the wheel on occasion at highway speeds...but not a big deal or anything that would keep me from driving the car. With just 61k original miles showing on the odometer, this is probably one of the lowest mileage W140's on the market...and it is being sold with NO RESERVE so bid to own. If you've been looking for an exceptional W140 car, this S420 deserves your serious consideration. This Mercedes-Benz comes as a fresh NEW MERCEDES DEALER TRADE and has a current PA safety and emissions inspection good through the end of March, 2016.

Winning Bidders:

Full payment is due within 7 day of the auction's end. The prefferred method is to bring cash in person to complete the sale. If you are unable to bring cash in person within seven days or will be having the vehicle shipped, we also accept Certified Checks, USPS Postal Money Orders, and wire transfer.

We cannot accept credit cards or personal checks.
Vehicles that are not picked up within 14 days of auction's end will be charged a $10/day storage fee, unless other arrangments are made.
Non-paying Bidders:
We take great pride in our work and are very serious about what we do. Likewise, we expect the people who bid on our auctions to be serious about honoring their bid. If you are the successful bidder for any of our auctions and do not pay for your vehicle within the specified time, an Unpiad Item case willbe opend with eBay. This can severely restirct yur ability to purchse from all eBay sellers. You will be charged a $249 re-listing fee. All unpaid fees will be handed over to a collection agency and pursued to the fullest extent of the law.
Fee and Tax Information: The only fee added by the seller is our $149 fee. This is used to isolate our fixed expenses such as eBay fees, transportation, processing, etc., and is not applied to any costs incurred by the purchaser.
The purchaser is responsible for any and all costs associated with transfer of ownership including, but not limited to: registration, sales tax, tags (including temp or in-transit tags), title transfer, inspection, and transportation expenses.
We are a PennDOT issuing agent and able to complete most tag, registration, and title work, as well as collect sales tax, for Pennsylvania residents.
For out-of-state buyers PennDOT offers a 30-day temporary tag (aka In-Transit tag). The cost is $45 and the buyer must show a valid driver's license and current proof of insurance. We can issue them at our office.
