1981 Mercedes 300D. Originally purchased new in Cleveland by my Uncle, sold to my Grandfather and given to me in 2002. I daily drove this car for a number of years and now it's time to pass it on to someone else who will enjoy it. I have always had the car serviced by competent MB mechanics but it is a 35 year old car with the expected defects. Motor mounts, radiator, suspension, brakes, window regulators, belts and numerous other bits have been replaced. Vacuum system leaks and the door locks have been disconnected as has the cruise control. The AC has a pinhole leak somewhere but does hold coolant when charged for an extended period of time. I hate to see the car go but it's time to move on. This has been a super reliable car and I would expect it to continue to be so for a significant amount of time. It starts and runs as expected and has solid shifts.
