Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is one of the most iconic performance coupes in human history, the BMW E46 M3. Here is everything you need to know about this amazing model If you have any questions, you can reach me at (301) 742-2953 Engine/Mechanical: The engine runs well, and has no signs of hesitation at any speed or RPM. The VANOS system does not exhibit any loud clicks or rattles during operation. There are no leaks coming from the engine. The clutch grabs nicely, and all gears in the car's 6-speed SMG transmission go in smoothly without any grinding. The SMG is really in perfect working order and a lot of fun. Here is a list of things that have been replaced recently, all receipts will convey: Oil and filter change with OEM BMW recommended Castrol 10w-60 TWS oil Coolant flush New spark plugs and ignition coils New Starter. Quoted at a $800 job New OEM strut bar brace and strut mounts CPV (constant pressure valve) leak remedied with moly o-ring, so it will never leak again. What a nightmare. Quoted at a $700 job. Will have a transmission fluid flush upon delivery. Interior: The interior of this car is in great shape. The seats are Nappa leather sport seats w/adjustable bolster support, but are showing some signs of slight ear. Both front (rubber) floor mats are included and are in great shape. The rear floormats are cloth, and also in great condition. The headliner is in perfect condition. No hanging fabric anywhere. Also, the sunroof slider on the headliner does not suffer from any mis-alignment or fabric issues. New passenger door lock actuator Exterior: The car's exterior is painted in an amazing shade of Silver, called Silbergrau Metallic, or Silver Gray. It is a stunning color and has quite a following. The bumper is an OEM replacement, professionally painted and color-matched well. It has since accumulated a small number of hard-to-notice rock chips on the lower lip. I did not notice until getting under the car recently. Along with the bumper, the hood was repainted (also due to rock chips and flakes). When confronted with the fact that the hood and bumper looked noticeably better than the ~10 year old paint job on the fenders, they were also repainted and blended to match. At this time, the roof and trunk lid were repainted. The front bumper fits well, and everything looks as it would new. The driver's fender does have a paint flake the size of a small pebble. In addition, the hood has a cluster of 5 shallow dents that usually go unnoticed unless searching. These could be easily pulled out by a PDR service, but I have not been able to acquire a quote locally. Some of the wheels do have minor curb rash, that could easily be remedied with a refinishing. Car has bi-xenon self-leveling headlights with HID fog lights and coding to allow low beams, high beams, and fog lights to be run simultaneously. Suspension: As mentioned earlier, the car is completely, 100% stock. This includes the suspension. The car is at stock ride height with OEM suspension components. It has a newly added strut tower brace and strut mounts for that. The suspension is very tight. No knocking, clicking, play, etc. All bushings look very good. The car tracks reasonably straight and does not pull to one side when braking. Wheels/Tires: The wheels are OEM BMW M3 staggered wheels The wheels are in good shape and have no bends or cracks, but there are some minor curb rash marks on the passenger rear wheel. The tires are 225/40/18 in front, with plenty of meat left (around 65% tread). Rear tires are 255/40/18 with ~30% tread left. Electronics/Audio: The audio system in this car consists of the upgraded Harmon/Kardon premium system, with OEM navigation unit. All components work flawlessly, and the system sounds amazing. OEM 3.5mm jack aux input has been retrofitted to the audio system. All other electrical components in this car work with no problems or issues. The battery is a brand new OEM BMW model replaced within the last 3 months. All locks, windows, mirrors, buttons, controls, etc work as they should. The factory keyfob also works without a problem. All factory climate control functions work without a problem and A/C blows very cold. Brakes: The brakes are in great condition, with more than 75 percent life left in the pads, with rotors looking quite new. Brake service (new rotors, pads, pad wear sensors, and fluid) done within last 10k miles and 8 months. Car is located in the 20902 zip code, about a mile north of the Maryland/DC line. I would be more than happy to help make travel arrangements into airport, train station, or however you would like to buy the car. I am also more than willing to hold the car for a reasonable amount of time if a good faith deposit is made with genuine interest from the buyer. Contact 301-742-2953 any way you see fit Just a bit of a disclaimer, I do have the vehicle listed locally, so I reserve the right to take the ad down if a sale is made. The car is also driven occasionally. So, in the next 7 days period (or whenever you may pick it up), I estimate an average of 8 miles per day will be added to the car. I am more than happy to provide additional pictures.
