Vehicle Detail
1983 Honda CB1100F Super Sport with only 17,000 miles @ 530 miles per year I consider this low mileage. Very low and reasonable reserve I will not disclose this number, however if you want to purchase this motorcycle call me with a genuine cash offer. No trades accepted. This was Honda's replacement of the excellent but complex CBX 6 cyl. The CBX wasn't the best selling motorcycle Honda ever introduced due mainly of maintenance concerns of the 6 cylinders and carbs. And 24 valves. It proved to be an excellent MC and is now very collectible. I believe I owned the first one delivered to the USA a couple months before the dealers began to receive them. I have since owned 3, 2 '79's and 1 '82. I like them. I have a small private collection of motorcycles and cars. I had the opportunity to purchase a 1983 CB1100F for a friend in a foreign country and while it was stored with me I had numerous occasions to take it for a ride. I was impressed! It was lighter than my CBX and more HP and all on only 4 cylinders. Here is a quote from Cycle World magazine in Jan. '83. “Performance was pace setting. Cycle World tests at 11.13 seconds/120.48 mph quarter mile and 141 mph half mile earned it the designation of "fastest stock bike ever tested". I had to have one for me. I wanted a “box stock” one and I wanted a red one (they only came red or blue) and it needed to be nice and unmodified. Most I saw had some aftermarket exhaust and air filter system installed. I finally found this bike that had been stored for a long time indoors and only ridden occasionally to keep the “juices” flowing. But any machine that is stored will have a few issues which I found and corrected so here are the items addressed recently: New front & rear tires (Metzelers) New Brakes pads front & rear New Dot 4 Brake Fluid flushed thru the system frt. & rear New AGM Battery New Stator (Coil part of the Alternator) New Rotor (the real problem all along) Both parts were $500.00 New gas cap lock (absolutely unobtainable) long story Fresh tune up and oil change. Other minor items too numerous to list.No broken off plastic tips on side covers (see photo)This motorcycle is NOT perfect and has a few small paint defects but NO dents. A little fading from the sun over it's 32 year life. A true driver/rider quality ride. Fast, agile and still gets mid 40's MPG. I see these bikes advertised for 6-7000 dollars. I have too many motorcycles and cars and I am going to sell two or three of each. Besides I am 71 years old and not sure I should be riding some of the bikes I ride. All my “rides” are driven on a weekly rotation and yesterday on a pleasant 150 mile ride this CB turned over 17,000 miles so it will have a few miles put on it if you wait very long. This CB1100F is priced to sell as I don't need the practice and the bike will be sold to a very happy new owner if any effort is made at all by the purchaser. Legal part: I have a clear Texas title. No scams or silly stuff will be tolerated and no way it leaves here without certified funds or cash. No joy rides, I'll hold your drivers license and the money if you want to ride it. Check my ebay feedback I try very hard not to over describe the condition and that is why I have a 100% satisfied purchasers. Happy to help you with a shipper but of course that expense is the responsibility of the purchaser.I know a good one here in Missouri. Look at the photos, I show the defects and have detailed pictures to help you “know” what your are getting. Call or email me with questions, don't text me I won't answer you. I don't have a text friendly phone nor do I want one. Thanks for taking time to read all this I hope it is helpful. Happy bidding and good luck. Mike (417) 254-3333 Near Branson, MO 65611 is the Zip if it helps. On Sep-21-15 at 06:29:29 PDT, seller added the following information: I would like to sell this MC on the first listing so I just lowered the reserve $200.00. Now the current bid is only what the shipping charge should be away from my selling price. Please don't quit now you are almost there! Thanks Sept. 21, 2015 Mike
