Vehicle Detail
My 2001 Outback needs too much work for me to be able to put into it right now, so I am selling it. It has about 145000 miles. The Good: It's a 6 cylinder engine with the world's most sophisticated traction control system (VDC). You should look this up if you don't know what it is. Long story short, it's near impossible to slide off the road. This car has the Winter Package: heated leather seats, heated mirrors, heated windshield wiper base, and comes with Goodyear studded snows. I could not believe what I was driving through this winter with no problems at all. There is a front moonroof and rear sunroof, both are fully functional and leak free. I put in a new Pioneer head unit with bluetooth a a year-and-a-half ago, and go some pretty bad ass speakers(Rockford Punch) in the front. I bought new rear speakers (Infinity Reference) that I have not installed, but the will go with the car. There is an amp uner the seat that is not hooked up, that could either power the 6x9 in the trunk, or all 4 speakers and 4 tweets. You can install them if you want, or try to sell them. This car has a command of the road that rivals modern cars. The Bad: If you're a mechanic or someone who likes to tinker around, this is the car for youAllow me to disclose what I know about needed repairs:. I am certain the coil packs need replacing; that's why the engine light is on. . There is also a rattle coming from the front end upon acceleration, but it doesn't sound like a transmission issue. I think there is a loose something rattling around somewhere: it's probably an easy fix. The exhaust pipe fell off while driving, so it's pretty loud. I bet you could weld it or replace it for pretty cheap. There is a funny shutter which comes from the back end during acceleration. I have no idea what would cause that. The Ugly: There is rust in the typical spots (rear wheel wells), and in the rear left door there is now a hole. The hatch door handle needs to be lubed because it won't open, and one of the hydrolic arms that opens the hatchback is broken off and stuck in the tail light. There is a dent in the left rear quarter panel from a hit and run, but it never effected anything, so I never bothered with it. I really don't want the buyer to be surprised by anything- as of right now, this is everything I know to be wrong with it.
