1979 Dodge Lil Red Express Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE This is a very original 1979 Dodge Lil Red Express. We have a large private collection of iconic American race cars, super cars, sports cars, resto-rods, muscle cars, collector cars, and antiques. We typically are adding cars to the collection, but this is my parent’s car and does not match our “likes”. Both him and my mother are getting up in years and are a bit technically challenged. As a result, we are placing it up for sale on ebay. We currently have it sitting in the garage with our collection (while for sale). They live within a mile of my estate. They have had the truck for about seven years. They would take it out once or twice a month to a car show and otherwise was stored in the garage. Diabetes and age have impacted his driving safely. As a result, this creates an opportunity for someone to own a very original truck at a very manageable, fair price. The truck is all stock with all original components. We just did an oil change. The oil had minimal miles, but being a conventional oil sitting for a while, we wanted to change it. A new battery was just installed to ensure confidence in starting. The truck also has an older truck cover in good shape for use while parked in garage. It is a true survivor, with only 32k miles, but it is 36 years old. Some additional detailing will improve the overall appearance. We suggest that you stop out and review the car to assess for yourself. We have provided information below with our evaluation of the truck. There are owner groups that are heavily into this vehicle that provide technical tips, events, and where to find parts. Surprisingly, for being a niche vehicle, new and OEM parts are easily accessible at very reasonable prices. Interior Very nice - Seats, dash, steering wheel, carpet, glass, controls, gauges all look good. To make it better – Door seals should be replaced. Small metal door panels show wear from the driver’s arm rubbing against it. Engine Very nice – Engine starts and runs easily, significant HP for a small truck, fresh oil change, fluids good, new battery, and fresh fuel / fuel filter. On engine startup, stacks produce some visible smoke until warmed up. This is typical. To make it better – Further engine detailing and repainting the engine block. Exterior Nice – Paint is good with a few scratches / imperfections, body is in good shape with little or no rust, bed wood and paint is excellent with no wear from use, bumpers are in good shape with chrome being very average, rims are in good condition. To make it better – Decals are experiencing some cracking with new decals being available, further polishing of the step sides (chrome) We have documentation that we received with the truck and have gathered more information during ownership (owners groups, publications, etc.).
