Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is "RUGGID1" a rare 12,100 lb GVW Hummer H1. The truck will be sold WITHOUT the CRANE or hydraulic outriggers. This truck is very strong, it has larger brakes, cv shafts and running gear than most H1's. This truck is factory equipped with the 12,100 lb GVW option. The pictures show the truck with and without the crane and also with two different sets of tires. The truck will be sold with your choice of one set of tires and wheels. Again, the crane is not included. I have owned this H1 for twelve years, I am an ASE certified master technician and have kept this vehicle very well maintained. Over the years I have worked on and driven other H1 vehicles including an alpha. This truck is still my favorite because it is so solid and looks good but is not to pretty or expensive to have fun with. This truck runs and drives like any good 6.5 turbo H1 but just looks, feels and sounds like an awesome machine. This truck has always been perfectly reliable and operates very well, it has been kept inside, never driven in the salt and rarely in the rain. I have used the truck mostly as a toy and also to promote my previous business. It is in good shape with no leaks, no dents and no corrosion. Although there are no dents or major body defects, the paint is not perfect. The roof had been repainted before I bought the truck and there are some chips scuffs. touch ups etc, the hood has no fiberglass repairs. The paint still does look good, but has been through just enough that you can drive it off road without too much concern. This Hummer is not just for show although it does get plenty of looks. Don't take it to Home Depot unless you are prepared to answer questions from the lookers when your done shopping. The truck runs great, and has been well maintained and serviced including among other things; new coolant and thermostats, new transmission fluid and filter, new transfer case fluid, newer batteries and recent oil change. All other fluids were serviced within 10,000 miles ago. The truck has an aluminum radiator as well. The front end and suspension parts are all in good shape. The front springs have also been replaced. The brake pads and new twelve inch rotors have less than 5000 miles on them and are OEM Hummer parts. The truck has power windows and locks. The HVAC had been factory updated before I bought the vehicle apparently by the dealer using the OEM parts as found in newer H1's (see pic). The A/C is nice and cold. The stereo is upgraded with a Pioneer head unit, amp and speakers overhead, sub woofers in truck boxes behind each seat. I have added a Autometer boost gauge and pyrometer in factory mounting locations. The factory shifter handles have been replaced with custom made billet aluminum Hurst shifter handles which are very functional and feel great in your hand. The interior has normal wear and tear but is in good shape as pictured. The center or rear HVAC unit that used to sit on the tunnel has been removed as it was not needed and just in the way. I still have that unit and it is included. The firewall and anything accessible has been covered with dynomat products, greatly reducing interior noise. On the outside, this Hummer also has the optional ($$) factory rocker panel protection and full ($$)undercarriage protection including a custom fuel tank skid plate and a small skid plate up front under the winch. You can run over anything you want (which is very enjoyable for some of us).. There is a custom front bumper and grille guard made of heavy tubing. This bumper is fully functional and will stop the truck before it bends. The 12000lb Warn winch is nicely tucked inside the bumper and has little use but works well. There have been two compartments created behind the cab by adding hinges to two surplus closeout panels. I still have and will include the factory closeout panels, they simply bolt on if desired. This vehicle was originally a fleet serviced truck equipped by Altec with a man lift bucket or something like that in the bed. The custom headache rack is attached to the frame in the same manner as the original equiper had mounted their equipment using four large bolts and steel sleeves. The truck is not hacked up at all. Whoever removed the original equipment did a good job, and the tool boxes and framework which are currently installed are all bolted on to existing mounting points and can be removed. The headache rack is fabricated out of .250 wall square tubing and will definitely provide protection in event of rollover or heavy cargo shifting. The crane has been removed but the mount remains if you wish to reuse it. There is a fuel can carrier bolted in where the crane once was. The fuel cans are not included. The toolboxes are custom fabricated out of 3/16 inch steel sheet. The toolboxes, framework and headache rack are all very strong and make the bed of the truck much more usable along with providing needed storage space and tie down points. I always keep a sheet of 3/4 plywood on the floor of all my trucks to keep the bed in good shape. The floor of this bed is fine. The crane is not included but is available for $3000.00 as a separate sale, the outriggers are not available. I do have and will include the tool box section (see picture) which can be added on to the toolbox on the drivers side to make it match the passenger side if desired. The tool box frames and crane frame are all bolted on to existing fasteners and mounting holes on the vehicle. they can be removed and the truck should be unharmed. I have pictured the truck with two different sets of tires. Only one set of tires and wheels will be sold with the vehicle. Choose between either set of tires and wheels, both sets are almost new. One set is factory size 37" radial SSL Swampers on military 12 bolt wheels with double internal bead locks installed. The other set is 38.50-14.50x17 Procomp X terrain radials on black steel wheels. The Procomp's are my favorite as they look great, are lighter, quieter and ride better. The larger tires also give you a little better gearing for the highway. If running a lot off road, the Swampers are nice because you can air down with no worries and they are good in the soft stuff. Also, the Procomp's can rub under some conditions but they only hit the front of the rocker panel protection which does no harm. As this vehicle is also listed for sale locally, I reserve the right to end this listing at any time. And of course, this vehicle is being sold as is where is and there is no warranty. Delivery is not included. Shipping or pickup is the responsibility of the purchaser.
