Vehicle Detail

The restoration of this matching numbers bike was just recently completed and has 50 debug miles on the NOS speedo. There are a few detours from original, 12v DC charging system, electronic ignition, no tool box now occupied by coil, different horn as original 6v AC can not be used. The restoration includes the following: Engine rebuild with all new bearings and seals, sludge trap cleaned, new oil pump, new rod bearing, new small end rod bushing, head rebuilt with new valves, guides and seals. Transmission gear cluster in excellent shape, new bearings and seals. Clutch new plates, and rubber shock absorbers, new primary chain. Rebuilt wheels with new rims, SS spokes and Trials Universal tires. New secondary chain (heavy duty) and sprockets. New exhaust and Monobloc carb. Charging system has been converted from 6v AC to 12v DC to accommodate a quality ignition system (original ignition systems on these bikes are junk). Using Sparx rectifier/regulator with capacitor so it can continue to be batteryless. Ignition system is a Pazon Sure Fire (best you can get). Front forks have been rebuilt with new tubes, seals, seal holders, top nuts, gators. Rear shocks are Hagon (best you can get). All frame parts have been powder coated gloss black. Tank, badges and fenders painted by the "Vintage Vendor". This bike is 1 of about 500 Mountain Cubs that were imported to the Eastern US in 1967. There are very few left and few if any, that are this good. Some upgrades have been made to make the bike more reliable and run better than original. These bikes had a very poor original ignition system that tended to work OK at idle and poorly at high RPMs or the reverse, but never good throughout. The 6v AC charging system was also unregulated so dim lights at low RPM and other nuances. If you actually want to ride the bike you don't need these problems so they've been eliminated. Bike is located in Vermont and is currently registered. Vermont does not issue titles for bikes older than 15 years so transferring a title is not possible. Bike will be sold with bill of sale. Shipping or local pickup is the responsibility of the buyer. $500 will be required within 48 hours of auction close and balance within 7 days of auction close.
