Emmylou has been so much fun to experience traveling along the highways in the Western US. We’ve really enjoyed her, but our family has grown and we just don’t get out with her much anymore so it’s time for another Vanagon family to continue caring for her. We purchased EmmyLou July 2006 with 70,000 miles from JBD Imports in Denver. We had to replace the engine in 2009. Long story short, the used VW engine we bought and had installed ended up having a bad head gasket, so for the second (and final) engine replacement, we bit the bullet and went for the Bostig Zetec 2.0 conversion. It now has a Ford engine with about 71,000 miles on it. It works great and she zips right along now and can do 75 mph down the interstate. Features: Electric locks/windows. All of the original curtains and rear hatch screen. The fridge, propane stove and sink/faucet are all in working order. 2 beds, fold out upper bed, back seat/ bed folds up and down1 adjustable table 10 gal. fresh water reservoirCabinet doors all original and in excellent condition. Swivel front seats, seatbelts all work. Grey upholstery in great condition, no tears, clean, smoke-freeInterior lights, 110 volt built in plug. Exterior details: pop-top in good condition, pop-top canvas has a little wear where it’s been folded. Tires in good condition Slider door power lock doesn't work (needs new actuator) All windows/pop-top are waterproof, no leaks. Window trim cracked and could be replaced, shows age. Front bumper has scratches around licence plate. She does have some seam rust. We were going to tackle that next but it will need to be the next owner’s project.
