Vehicle Detail

If you desire a documented, near flawless, beautiful 1955 356 Speedster, this is the car. I have owned and enjoyed this Speedster for the last 20 years. Reluctantly, it is time to sell this wonderful car. I have been fastidious in maintaining this Speedster. Almost all parts are original Porsche parts. My intent in owning the car has never been to compete at Pebble Beach. However, this car has won several best of show awards at local and regional shows. This car really does stand out. This is a late production 1955 Speedster, Serial #80825, one of 1233 Pre A Speedsters made. The Certificate of Authenticity indicates that it was built on September 26, 1955. When purchased in 1995, it had been previously owned by an Ohio collector for 12 years. The body and paint are exceptional. I think anyone will find that the apparent upon any reasonable inspection. The tan top is in very good condition. And the side curtains are also in very good condition. If you would like to see photos of the car with the top up and with side curtains on, just send me a message. The original and unreliable roller bearing 1.5 liter, 55 HP engine has been replaced by a superior 1.6 liter 90 HP 912 engine (engine #753673). See article entitled “Blackbird” from the October 2012 Excellence magazine. The transmission is numbers matching. This car drives beautifully, it is very fast, and just great fun to drive. I think you will find that the level of detail in the description of work performed on this car, from when I first purchased the car in 1995 until the present, is quite impressive. With the car comes an extensive history file folder with repair receipts, reproduction 356 owner’s manual, reproduction correct tool kit, original tire jack, spare tire, side curtains with storage bag, and a full canvas tonneau cover. During just the first 30 months of ownership, $22,821.99 was spent bringing the car to an exceptional level. I have employed the services of a well-known Porsche technician and mechanic to perform all work on the car during this initial ownership period. And he has continued to perform all work on the car up to the present. The total receipts for the car for the last 20 years is over $41,000. No expense has been spared throughout my ownership. Recently, this Speedster was partially disassembled so that the chassis, frame, engine, transmission, belly pans, suspension, and wheel wells could be hand cleaned, and detailed. And, of course, I have the receipts and documentation to go with the detail work recently performed. Therefore, this car needs nothing. It has no issues. It is ready to be driven and enjoyed as intended. The car is located in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Will consider serious offers. Inspections are welcome and encouraged.
