Vehicle Detail
There are not very many pictures of this car and I am not a person of much power & influence to get someone to go there and take pics / or show you the car on their time. I may post the car on ebay next few days so that the transaction is more comfortable for the buyer. The rims and tires cost more than the car was worth, but it just sat 5 years so it's possible the tires may have some dry-rot / flat spot but that's an unknown until the car hits the streets again. 17 inch Billet rims on the car; BFGoodrich TA tires barely used but as mentioned they might be really dry by now. I daily drove it for just under 2 years through 2008-2010.Interior is tan, needs some work but it's not 'bad', 1 large crack on the dash and the bench seat sags a bit. This was an Oklahoma car; rust-free and it only lived in Chicago 1 season, which I only drove it in cold weather a few times. No rust. No large dents, larger than hail stones for example. 307 Olds v8. This car will run and drive but it is going to need a battery. You could probably try to charge the 1 in it just to get started on the car, but I would assume / prefer buyer plans to just trailer it home. Brakes are faded up front, need pads and possibly rotors. One of the pieces of fake 'chrome' fell off and I put it to the side but I have since then lost track of it. Fuel pump was recently replaced when the car was moved a few years ago. Taking a huge loss if I let it go at this price. Suede ceiling, dual exhaust, heat works and a/c works too (but it almost certainly need charged by now) has an electronic mirror with video feed and rear-view camera but I did not find a mounting kit for it before I walked away from the car. The mirror has a microphone on it with a volume control which you can eavesdrop on conversations nearly 25 feet away easily - except when the dual exhausts are on, in which case the mic is pointless, lol. Obviously the video mirror was originally intended for towing purposes (to hear if the hitch is not hooked up correctly or dragging chains etc) 5% tint but I did scuff the driver's tint when locked out 1 day. 'Newer' radio and speakers. Rear window broke but I replaced it right away. Sold as-is. This is a 200r4 car, meaning it has the good 4-speed trans which can handle a lot of power (to swap to a 350 block or 403 olds block). This is not a stupid car that someone beat halfway to death, but it's high mileage and it does need some front-end work eventually, maybe also shocks. Vinyl top is the only 'really bad' looking spot on the car. The vinyl top and trim will have to be re-done or eliminated for this to become the show car it deserves to one day become. There should not be any other masked 'bodywork surprises' costing shop time before paint anywhere else on this car. The frame is in very good condition, not bent or cracked. Will mail you the title / keys when I have your $ deposit, and you can take delivery of this car. If you know where the car is please have some respect & discipline - do not bother the HOA or some person that lives there to 'see' the vehicle in person. I know that the car made quite an impression on the local population when I was driving it in town, the rims really complement the car well and they just need a good polishing with a decent compound to look perfect again. The original wheels were not included when I bought the car. The engine is a 'stock' 307 but it has less than 100k miles on it because the original engine is gone. I did not install a posi-traction so it has stock rear gears. 7.625 rear end is good news. One of the euro-clip turn signals fell off the car and broke last time it was moved and will need to be purchased over again. Very good project car, especially if someone has a small block olds sitting around. Never had subwoofers in this car, so I promise it does not make irritating squeaking noises going up the road like some of these cars do, ty. The carburetor will need some adjustment within a few weeks of getting the car running again, since it just sat for a long time, but it works fine. I think the 307 under the hood is in the short-term very reliable and potentially has a lot of service left to offer, but obviously a swap to a 350 or 403 would be the ideal better future for this car. The 307 makes a loud rumble of noise w/ the dual exhaust kit, but you won't even beat a UPS truck with this motor; it is not very fast and gets about 17mpg. Cruises really nice at about 70-75 on the interstate all day, however. This is the ideal 'first car' to keep a young man or even a young woman on a tight leash, or for someone who is learning how to work on cars. Very easy car to work on. Several enthusiast forums and car clubs online to help you figure out this car if you need help. This car is going to run & drive for you without any serious issues coming up for the next few years. Intake manifold and fuel pump were replaced just recently. Sold as-is with the missing turn signal, but very good condition overall for this year of car. Deposit of $1,000 required upon winning bid within 24 hours of auction close or I will re-list it. No bidders without feedback please.
