Vehicle Detail
For your consideration is our clean 1993 Chevrolet Suburban K2500 4X4 ¾ Ton with the 454 7.4L big block motor. This truck runs well, is fully loaded, and only has about 128,000 miles on it. We have owned this truck since 2008, and have invested thousands of dollars into it. We have only put about 15,000 miles on it during this time, as this truck was strictly a camping vehicle we used to pull our trailer (22’ HiLo), and for weekend Home Depot duty. The truck is equipped with the following: Power Windows and locks (working) Power drivers seat (working) Tilt wheel/cruise control (working) Front/Rear AC/Heat (working) Tinted windows all around Intermittent wipers (working- need new blades) Rear Wiper (working – need new blades) Remote hatch release (working) 3 row seating Am/Fm CD player with Ipod and Bluetooth capability. I also have the original stereo, complete with equalizer, that comes with the truck. This unit has been professionally modified to accept Ipod input. Power mirrors (working) Rear Defog (not working – the wires are disconnected at rear glass) Center console Overhead console Skid plates (factory) Front push bar Late model polished alloy Chevrolet Truck wheels Roof rack Complete towing package including electronic trailer brake Full gauges (working – oil pressure gauge maxes out above idle – at idle works normally) All the exterior lights were getting cloudy so I replaced them all – new headlights (not polished old ones that get foggy again), LED turn signals and taillights. It has a Dynomaxx cat-back exhaust with high-performance cat converter on it. Some of the mechanical work done to it over the course of our ownership (I’m looking for the receipts – we recently moved and I’m having a hard time finding them…..): Radiator Fan Clutch Serpentine Belt Belt tensioner Oil Cooler lines AC compressor, hoses, receiver/drier, orifice tube Rear brakes Master cylinder Hydroboost (the hydroboost started leaking – I took it to the shop and told them, but they diagnosed the leak as a bad master cylinder. They replaced the master cylinder and the hydroboost kept leaking….so I got a free master cylinder out of that deal J ) Battery Fuel pump Pressure regulator Injectors Ignition module Coil Plugs Cap & Rotor Plug Wires Filters, etc Alternator The tires are fairly recent, and only have a few thousand miles on them If it seems like we did a lot to something we didn’t drive much, you are correct. I have a “thing” about making sure every vehicle I own always starts, stops and goes at the drop of a hat, no matter how long it has been sitting. A couple years back we had the truck stripped and repainted, as it was exhibiting that 1990s GM truck paint peeling. At that time, they removed the peeling side moldings, and painted the bumpers to match. I added the Z71 emblems and decal (It’s actually a Silverado). The chrome on the original grille was peeling, so I replaced it with a billet grille and header panel from a GMC Suburban….I like the look better. Bolted right on. It has an aftermarket burl wood steering wheel (stock wheel included) to match the burled wood dash kit (extra dash kit included). Factory service manuals and owners manual are included. Extra parts as I dig them up, including K&N air filter and various bits/pieces Here are the RPO codes from the sticker in the glovebox. The descriptions for the ones listed came from the internet, but they seem to jive with what I know about the truck, so I’m guessing they are pretty accurate. The truck starts, runs, and drives well. It stops and turns fine too! Our most recent trip was to Utah (from Southern California) and it went well with no problems. The CarFax report is included and clean. Just smogged and registered until July 2016. Clean, clear California title in my Wife and My name. Great truck that will seat 6 very comfortably, or 8 if they are cozy. As with any 22 year-old vehicle, there are flaws with this truck, mostly cosmetic. These are the major ones I’m aware of: Even though we just painted it, I chipped up the drivers door by opening it into a wall (DOH!)Rear hatch struts are getting weak, and defroster wiring has come loose from hatchThe headliner is in poor shape, with holes and some saggingThe drivers seat is worn – not torn, but showing wearThe carpet is stained in many places, and faded in others. A good shampoo may help, especially in the rear compartment where I tipped over an engine I was hauling and it dumped oil all over. I no longer have the front factory mats, and the aftermarket ones I purchased are lousyThis has the typical early 1990s GM HVAC blend door ticking sound when you transition from floor to face vents, etcThe dash is broken up pretty good. It was cracked and at some point the glovebox door became difficult to latch. I tried fixing it with my fist which just cracked the brittle plastic dash up even more. Dash caps are readily available on eBay.The aftermarket Pioneer radio does not sound that great (in my opinion, my wife thinks it is fine)The ABS light illuminates on the dash. This is a wheel sensor I’m guessing since it does not come on at startup or in reverse. Only when you start rolling forward does the light come on. Brakes work fine. This truck would make a great family hauler or work truck, and is a capable off roader. We are only getting rid of it because we upgraded to a 2003 Suburban. This truck has been well loved by us, and has lots of life left in it! Vehicle is for sale locally.
