Vehicle Detail
This is a bike I looked for for many years before I found this beauty. This would have to be described as museum quality by anyone. This bike is all original and in like new condition in all regards. The paint is super shiny, cases are all clean, super straight and impeccably maintained by both me and the previous owner. The owner I bought it from about 6 years ago was a fanatic about his bikes as I am. He went through this bike from end to end making it the most capable and reliable Transalp I have ever laid eyes on. I can see no signs of this bike ever having been dropped. I hate to part with it, but life changes and I need to make some room rather than store all the things I have no time to use. Some of the key features on the bike are as follows: 1. Hepco & Becker detachable hard bags2. Upgraded Honda big brake kit up front (If I recall it may have been from a Hawk?) The disc and caliper are pretty big and they work awesome. 3. Upgraded rear brake linings 4. Givi charging monitor system5. Upgraded charging system to run extra rider comfort items without worry6. 5 Position heated head grips7. Custom safari windshield with second panel to adjust airflow to rider8. Custom heated seat with excellent support for long rides (I have done 500 mile days without problems - FYI I'm 6' tall / 250# - this bike will cruise all day at 85 on the highway with me on it) 9. Original stock exhaust in perfect condition10. Battery Tender hard wired11. Tour A Tech spare gas can and mount on back12. Custom offset license plate and light mount13. High output Halogen driving lights14. New tires front and rear with only 1 trip to Moab15. Hand Guards16. New clutch before last ride 17. Regular oil changes This is a liquid cooled, twin plug, 3 valve per cylinder wonder bike. I can not tell you how pleased I was with this bike both on and off road. It is so light and nimble it is just amazing to ride. I own a number of rare and unique motorcycles both new and old and I have to say this one has been one of my favorites because it is so versatile and well balanced. This bike is a real head turner as many people never knew these bikes existed in the US and they were only here for a couple years when Honda brought over a few European favorites like the transalp, the Reflex and their cafe bike the GB 500. Americans at that time did not know what to think about any of these bikes and they have all become cult classics with huge following years later. This is the real deal - a true survivor, not a fixer upper, not a fluffed up old dirty bike made to look good. I would tell you this bike would be welcomed in any high end collection or the Barber Museum - it's just that good! The bike starts and runs as close to new as you could get and rides like a new bike - it's a blast to ride around town and will keep up at highway speeds if you need to. I drove it on the interstate from Salt Lake City Utah to Las Vegas Nevada with zero issues. I spent 2 days of the ride off road in Moab and Zion and it was simply amazing. There was no BMW GS that could ever think of keeping up off road with this light and nimble machine. The looks you get while riding this thing are amazing - it's like riding a time capsule. No stories, no excuses, it's just a great piece of history that you can ride anytime you like. These are the number 1 dual sport bike in Europe and this one is by far the nicest and most correct original I have come across. I will help the buyer coordinate shipping at the buyers expense. I will ship international if the buyer arranges all needed to export and ship at their expense. I will build a crate at buyers expense if needed. A winning bid does not give you the right to negotiate after the auction ends - it is a binding contract to purchase! The bike is at my business in Madison Wisconsin and anyone is welcome to come see it in person or have it inspected. The bike operates great and starts right up with no issues, good brakes, clutch, tires, etc. Good luck bidding and feel free to call me Jeff 608-347-7438
