Up for sale is this rare 1979 Volvo 242 GT that was recently acquired. Due to losing my contract job, I am looking to sell some projects to pay some stuff off. I have a 9-month-old son, so I need to keep the income flowing somehow... So unfortunately one of the things I am looking to sell. The car runs fine but it needs some body work. Rusted quarters and rocker panels as well under the license plate needs to be repaired and/or replaced. Rust repair panels are available. It shows 214K miles, but the odometer was said to have quit recently. Though the car does run fairly well, it could benefit from a complete tune up. It has the original B21F non-turbo 4-cylinder engine and the M46 manual 4-speed with electronic "Laycock" overdrive transmission. The overdrive does not engage but the 4 speed transmission is fine. Most likely a simple electrical issue. The clutch was replaced around 2001, and is in excellent working order. I have all of the service records for this car. The drivers seat needs some attention. I have a second set of 242 GT seat covers for one of the seats with the orange stripe too available for an extra cost (NOT included in the sale). The seat cushions and springs seem fine. All lights work. The suspension and brakes need attention as the car has not been on the road as a daily vehicle for some time, so they should be gone through. It has the Volvo 240 turbo Virgo wheels on it. The A/C needs to be recharged, but the compressor turns on.  The car is not registered, inspected, or insured. The car is located in Newark, Delaware 19702. The car is being sold AS IS, where is. There is no warranty expressed, implied, or otherwise offered. There will be no returns or refunds given for any reason whatsoever. A $100.00 non-refundable deposit is due immediately upon purchase on ebay. Pick up only. If interested in having it shipped, I have several shippers that I work with and can pass along the info to the buyer. Shipping will be at the buyers expense. I will help in any way that I can and will work with the shipper to have the car picked up. Since the car is at my home, it can be picked up almost any time (within reason of course) with advance notice. Thanks for looking!
