Vehicle Detail
OK, So this is going to be a story. This truck belonged to my neighbor down the road. He owned it for years. Because the truck was older he carried very little insurance on it.... yep, that is where this gets good. He "fell asleep" one night while driving. (honestly he was 76 so think he just ran off the road, but who am I to judge). He hit a sign and damaged the grille, hood, bumper, and windshield. Because of the age and value and high deductible. The vehicle was deemed salvage. He couldn't part with his truck and bought it from the insurance company and replaced the parts. Windshield replaced with new. All other parts with used. I purchased the truck from him about a year and a half ago. And that is where the story picks up...(wanted to add that the truck was inspected by the state of Florida after repair and was issued a rebuilt title, vehicle is titled and legally on the street now) The truck has 218000 miles. It was an original motor and transmission. Upon buying it from him my plans were to rebuild it. However.... As of 2 weeks ago I found out I will be having my first child... So my home gym it being moved from spare bedroom to garage and now I have no room to store parts. Not to mention I honestly cant justify spending money on the truck when a baby is coming... so here it goes.. Upon purchase I replaced in no particular order... New grille with brushed aluminum bowtie new tail lights and light circuit boards new carpet new corner markers(lights) Then truck was taken to APC automotive in Stuart Florida where the build began. Rough country suspension lift installed(6"), Performance accessories body lift(3"), when body lift installed new polyurethane body bushings installed, gap guards to hide the body gap, ceramic brake pads front and rear, stainless steel brake lines, new rotors, and rear drums also received new parts kit. A NEW(not rebuilt, used or remanufactured) crate Goodwrench/GM performance 350. K&N off road aircharger intake, New battery, new hoses, new belts, new water pump, new alternator, new battery. Then onto exhaust.... off road y pipe and flowmaster muffler(40 Series). 17'' polished wheels with Cooper ST 37x12.50 r 17. Also Tow hitch installed. Then truck was taken to Palm City transmission and transmission was rebuilt with Kevlar bands and a transmission cooler was installed. Since work has been done on truck less than 500 miles have been driven. That is right.... less than 500 miles since brand new motor installed. Also want to add that proper break in procedure was followed. Next my plan was to finish interior and then move onto body... however All that has been done to interior is the seat frame was repainted and sound deadening material placed on floor and rear wall and roof. Truck has already been wired for stereo system. OK so onto the bad... Small rust spot on base of drivers door(in pictures) Cab corner a little soft, will need to be done. Hood has a crease in it. AC does not work as of now, not sure if it needs charged or new compressor. never checked it out as of yet. Oil gauge does not work. Paint isn't perfect... Ok, and now for the parts list that comes with the vehicle not yet installed Composite headlights with high wattage wiring(stock lights draw power through dash on/off switch, this wires lights to battery so direct power and can use higher watt bulbs) CD player with Aux input. 2 sets of 4x6 speakers and bass blockers In dash mount kit which replaces center dash piece New Hood New bumper trim, new push pads, new license plate holder. New cab corner and new lower door skin to replace above mentioned issues Chevrolet factory tailgate emblem/decal New precut factory body trim/Moldings Window gap guards/Rain guards amplifier and 2 6x9s in truck boxes new rear view mirror new door locks with matched keys Like I said... my plan was to fully rebuild and restore this truck. Unfortunately will not have the time or extra money to finish the truck at this time. My loss is your gain. It runs and drives great. And sounds very mean. I have made every attempt to list all defects. However this is a 23 year old truck and something might have been missed. Also I believe I may have forgotten some of the new parts I have sitting in my garage. All I have will be included with the purchase of this truck. Between the purchase of vehicle, parts and labor. I have approx. 12G into truck so far. I have extra parking in my neighborhood so I have no problem keeping the truck here while shipping is arranged. Sale requires $500.00 deposit upon end of listing via PayPal. Remainder within 5 business days via certified check, cash, money order. If you have less than 5 feedback please contact prior to bidding or bid will be canceled. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. I was asked a great question. The height of the truck. Its 86" tall. My garage is fairly standard and measures 83" tall. If you put stock rollers on it (which you could get at junk yard for cheap) it would drop it aprox 5" and would fit. I also tried another option. I ran the tires to 15 psi. And was just barely able to squeeze it into my garage. Just wanted to pass this along. This was the exact motor that went into the truck from summit. If you scroll to bottom of link you see that motor carries a 36 month 100,000 mile warranty if installed as original equipment m.summitracing.com/parts/nal-12568758
