This is a really cool 1959 Beetle, for sale with NO RESERVE. I got this to use as a summer cruiser, but I think I need something with more power, and rear seat belts (I have young kids). This car shows nicely, with a little patina. It runs and drives awesome, starts right up and goes out well. The car has the old 40 horse motor, with 4 speed trans. It is a 6 volt. The extent of work I planned on doing to this car is zero, notta, zip. This car is ready to enjoy right now. It's mostly original, but I can see some parts are not. The door panels are not the correct year, nor are the tail lights, among other misc parts. The fuel line was replaced with a rubber one, and it runs along the tunnel on the interior. The passenger front hubcap had a clip come loose ( I still have the clip), so that needs attention if you want the hubcap to stay on. The linkage is a little sloppy, but you get used to it after a couple times driving it. There is some rust bubbling, and along the edges, but the underneath is super solid. You can see all of the obvious flaws up close, but I think the flaws give it personality. I guess you could say it's a "20 footer". Bottom line, it's a great Beetle, and it's ready to enjoy. Vehicle sold as-is, where is, with no warranty expressed or implied. After all. it is a 56 year old VW. It is the responsibility of the interested buyer to inspect the vehicle prior to purchase. On Jun-15-15 at 05:15:33 PDT, seller added the following information: I've been driving this car to work every day, (about 60 miles daily) and I noticed a quirk with the linkage. The car has a tendency to want to pop out of first gear when giving it hard gas, but it seems ok if you hold it into gear. This would be related to the linkage being sloppy, so it will need adjustment at some point. I just wanted to make everyone aware, for full disclosure.
