Vehicle Detail
I have a very hard to find rare optioned 1965 El Camino project, that I started, and have shifted my focus to a 1972 Nova instead. That means I need to sell the El Camino. This is a numbers matching factory 300 Horse 327 4 speed, A/C, 12 bolt posi rear end from the factory. This car has been disassembled for decades awaiting it's turn in the garage, with the former owner, but he never got to it. It has under 88,000 original miles. I just got this back from the body shop yesterday. My friend, Richard, welded up the few rust spots, that were present. It was rusted along the dash, inside of the front windshield and two small sections outside of the rear windshield, and a small patch on the driver's floor. That was the only rust out in the entire car. There were a few little wrinkles, one in the left door and in the bottom of the left rear quarter, which someone had previously pulled out, but never finished. Richard pulled those out and roughed them in. There's about a half days worth of work to work over the rest of the body. There was nothing major. The worst of the work is already done. We purposely did not primer the entire car, which is still wearing most of the factory paint, so you can see what you are getting. We didn't try to hide anything with primer. The front clip, including both fenders, both inner fender wells and the firewall have been sandblasted and primed. We just installed the new radiator core support. The old one is in the bed of the truck. Looks like they smashed it with the motor when they removed it. The fenders and doors fit pretty well, although the right fender needs to come back toward the door, just a little bit. The engine has been stored inside since it was removed and disassembled. We have everything for it, except as I mentioned, the head bolts. I am not sure why the previous owner wanted to rebuild it as it was a running driving car, with no apparent issues, according to Joe, who I got it from. I do have a disc brake set up for it that can go with the car. The rally wheels are 15x7's with derby caps. The front tires are brand new. The back ones have like new tread, the sidewalls are a little checked. They can go with the car also. If you want to pay a little less for the car, I will keep the disc brake set up and the rally wheels and install a set of stock wheels with roller tires. There are a lot of powder coated parts included. The fan shroud, sway bar, hood hinges and springs, pitman arm, miscellaneous brackets etc. They are black and I just unwrapped them to take the pictures. The trans has the original reverse lock-out shifter. Again all matching number transmission, bellhousing, exhaust and intake manifolds. This car did not come with power steering, but I think we have a power steering set up for it....don't quote me on that. All in all this is a great project that is looking for a new home. I tried to capture most everything in the photos. If you want to see a picture of something else, let me know and I can email it to you. I do have the stock bench seat, I'm not sure if I have a picture of that. I live in Southern CA about 90 miles north of Santa Barbara, and about 10 miles south of Pismo Beach, in Nipomo. I can help load the car or as you can see I have a trailer and can deliver the car, after it's paid for, for a fee. Thank you for looking at my listing. I am asking exactly what I have in the car, which is $4,500.00. I just spent $1,700.00 on the blasting, body work and core support after paying $2,500.00 for the car. Please submit your best offer. I have the Nova that I want picked out already, so I need the cash worse than a trade right now as the guy won't hold it for too long. Blessings, Dana.
