This original 1963 Impala SS Convertible is in excellent condition . I recently purchased this vehicle from a estate sale. The owners daughter told me that he owned the car for 39yrs. From 2006 to 2008 he did a frame off restoration of this vehicle. When it was completed , he was diagnosed with cancer and unfortunately never drove it. It sat in his garage for the last 7yrs. I am told it has the original 327/300 hp motor, although I believe the deck was milled, because the numbers are not where they should be. It also has the original Muncy 4 speed. interior is flawless, the convertible top looks and operates as new. The motor and engine bay is very clean and original and the undercarriage and frame are rust free and clean. The trunk is solid and new looking. The chrome and trim is shiny and dent free. Driving this vehicle is a pleasure, it runs flawlessly and has a great sound to the like new exhaust. The trim tag on the cowl decodes like this. The 815 is code for black bucket seat convertible SS. The paint code is 948 which is Palomar Red. It is a 3Z car which some say is code for a SS, but I have also heard it is for metallic brakes. The only issue to contend with is the paint. It is definitely a 20 footer. It has a nice shine but this car deserves a really good paint job and it would be close to a number one vehicle. Not sure why the paint has issues,but the daughter told me that her Dad was just to sick to deal with it at the time. I also have 2 sets of fender skirts. One painted , the other pair are stainless steel. The odometer reads 25,560 miles and the title shows it as being actual mileage. The previous owners daughter said her father never used it as a daily driver. I have tried to describe everything to the best of my knowledge. Please ask questions if you have any.
