Vehicle Detail
Selling my 1965 F250 Custom Cab 4x4. Originally a ranch truck from Eugene, Oregon. Super clean, super solid Oregon body with just the right amount of natural patina. Pretty much original Tropical Turquoise finish with some touch up I am sure here and there. All steel. Late 60's 390 with Edelbrock Performer 4V coupled to the original 4 speed creeper and divorced Dana transfer case. Runs and drives great. Engine does has wrist pin noise on the #8 piston. Sounds like a lifter on steroids. Under accel its gone, under decel its gone. Only shows up on float. I recently put a set of rod bearings in it just to make sure. Once I diagnosed it to a piston pin it did not bug me as much. Either pull the piston and resize the pin, or just drive it. Blows no blue. Otherwise a great driving truck, tracks down the road straight, Steering tight, 4x4 works great. Closed knuckles, including bearings and seals recently gone through this Christmas, new timing chain, Pertronix ignition, fuel pump, NEW fuel tank, water pump, hoses, etc, pretty much everything to make it dependable. Very solid dual exhaust. Good tires. Ratio: 4.55 front (Dana) 4.56 Rear (Dana) New brakes throughout, including new rubber hoses, master cylinder, wheel cylinders. DOT 5 silicone fluid. Floorpans, cab mounts, stepwells, areas under rear tail lights etc, super solid, just what you would expect from an Oregon truck. Bed load floor has no rust through, but is wavy in places. Tail gate bowed, but it just adds to the charm. Glass good, dash uncut, just a very original truck. Interesting that it has a factory punched hole for the antenna, but no radio. Original seat has some wear on the drivers side, but to be expected on a truck you climb up into. Rare factory original windshield washers (the reservoir is not) Do not be fooled, this is one truck that lets you know it is a truck, expect noise, squeaks, rattles, but a blast to drive! Note I posted a pic of the data plate. Looks like a special order truck based on the DSO code. If you win it, be prepared to pay for it, cash in person or cleared cashiers check. Clean, clear Michigan title in my name. No, I will not stop the auction early so you can buy it outside of eBay. No, I will not ship it or sell it outside the US. Yes, it has the correct bed on it. Located in Flat Rock, Mi,18 miles South of Detroit. Will work with shipper. Tried to be as descriptive as possible, but if you have any questions please give me a call on 734-735-2086. Thanks, Warren
