I am selling my grandfather´s vintage Soviet made MOSKVITCH 412 a.k.a. as Stalin´s sleigh. The vehicle has been garaged the whole time, the body of the car is in very good condition concerning the age, there are a few scrapes, scratches and bruises and one dent (about as big as a palm of a hand, front left above the wheel). The car has never been involved in an accident the mileage is a mere 61,000 km, as my grandfather used only to drive to do some shopping and back. The car has some unique features: - the handbrake under the steering wheel - the headlights are switched by a foot-button on the floor - manual 4 speed gearbox, leather upholstery, original windows, motor, jack and wrenches, etc. - forget about electornics, this car is mechanical as is possible - the Moskvitch is a heavy (over 1500kg) and hungry beast (about 12 litres to 100 km) - engine 1.5 litres (55 kW) descended form a 1939 BMW engine that the USSR got as part of war reparations from Germany That being said, the car has not been in operation for the past 15 years and is not in the vehicle registry and will have to be towed away (i.e. put on a truck and driven away). It will need a an overhaul especially of the electricity, the tachometer has fallen out and will have to be reinstalled, and the insullation rubber replaced. Dry rot has also taken its toll especially on the steering wheel. The wheels are a bit stiff from standing in one place such a long time. The car is ideal for an enthusiast and someone with time and patience on their hands to rebuild themselves this unique car.
