Vehicle Detail
1962 Original Volkswagen Beetle, this car is a May of 1962 West German Built Bug, first year with the Gas Gauge. Car is a Texas black plate car. the car shows 77 k miles, I believe that to be the correct mileage but cannot confirm this. The car has always been in Texas. The car is very solid with very minimal rust. Rockers have a little rust but the rest of the car is solid. Half pan has been replaced, floors are solid, heater channels are good and work well in the winter. The car has been painted once (original color) which does have a patina look, I assume was done many years ago. The car does have a correct 62 1200 engine that was completely rebuilt around 3k miles ago. Brand new battery. Oil changed every 500 miles and valves been adjusted 3 times since rebuild. The car has been converted over to 12 volt around 3 years ago. All fuel lines and gas tank have all been replaced. No leaks. Tie rods have been replaced. When I rebuilt the engine I also had the clutch replaced too. I have only used German OE parts. The car runs and drives perfectly, the 4 speed shifts well with no grinds. She will do 70 smoothly on the highway. I have been driving the Bug around twice a week since the rebuild. As for the car she is very original and is not perfect. The nose has been damaged as seen in the pics, the back of the car is very straight. Body has some minor dents and dings as you can imagine the car is 53 years old. The interior is original with the horse hair seats.the rear seats are good with tear on the top. Car does have seats belts in the back, the front drivers seats will need to be replaced, seat is good, but the vinyl is worn. Passenger seat is fine with wear and tear. A previous owner decided that they wanted to paint the interior black, which probably has preserved the interior, it has original paint underneath which does peel off. All gauges work with lights. The front headlights were converted over to HID which are super bright. Car has a CD player in the glove box, I have a box of original parts, headlights, original stick shift and rear lights also new window seals which go with the car. All glass is original except for the windshield. If you are looking for a car to have fun and get comments everywhere you drive than this is her. If you are looking for a restoration candidate this would be great car. Car has a Clean Texas Title and the tags are current to 2018. I will be willing to help ship but buyer must pay for all shipping expenses, will be willing to ship overseas. This is a NO Reserve Auction so Happy Bidding if you have any questions call me at 469-878-1696. I can email more pics on request.
