I have for sale a 1972 Ford Mustang Coupe. This is a solid example from North Carolina, not a rusted out Midwestern car. It has a 302 motor which was rebuilt approx. 500 miles ago. Also a C4 transmission that was also rebuilt 500 miles ago. The engine burns no oil and runs great. Tranny shifts like it should. The choke works well and the car starts fine when cold. The car has had a lot of work done to it recently to make it mechanically sound. That work includes: reman p/s pump, reman steering box, new steering coupler and hoses, newer brakes including m/cyl, new battery and cables, new radiator hoses and thermostat, reman water pump, new drive belts, cylinders were honed and within specs, heads were professionally rebuilt by a local engine shop with hardened valve seats installed, new rod bearings, new main bearings, new pistons and rings, all new seals and gaskets, freeze plugs, etc. New carpet was just installed. The original interior is in nice shape but is not new. There is a 1/4"-1/2" hole in the passenger front seat along with an equally small tear in the rear bottom seat. The headliner has a quarter sized hole above the driver. The dash has been recovered. The gauges work along with all the lights including the courtesy lights. The car originally came with p/s, p/b, vinyl top. The original vinyl top is in very nice shape. Somewhere along the line a NASA hood was added along with a rear spoiler. I added the front air dam. The car is very solid but not without any rust. It has a small amount of rust through on the passenger front floor and some pin holes on the driver side rear floor. Both of which were sealed with silicone and undercoated making them waterproof. There is a spot of rust under the hood by the driver side hood hinge(see photo). There is also some rust through on the panel under the battery(common problem). The driver's side door has some rust bubbling up on the lower front corner and some underneath. The passenger door looks good. Fenders are all good. All structural components are solid. There is some surface rust on the trunk floor and a few other spots of surface rust but overall a very solid car. An aftermarket cd player has been installed with an auxiliary input for ipods, etc. Aftermarket speakers have also been installed in the rear deck and where the original front speaker was mounted. This car sat for a couple years recently and had a couple mouse nests in it which I have removed. I also completely disassembled the heater and cleaned it. The car still smells a little mousy but I am airing it out. And lastly it has an oil leak. I think it is from the valve covers and I am in the process of sealing them. Clear Florida title. Enough of that stuff. This car gets looks everywhere it goes. Solid mechanically and structurally. Great for cruising or taking to work.
