Here's the deal. My son got taken by a dealer in St. Louis when he bought this, his first car. They lied to him about the value of this hail damaged car. They knew they could soak him, and they did! I took him back to the dealer to refuse the deal, but there is no buyer's remorse law in Missouri. The dealer refused to cancel the deal, but I got him to drop $6,000 in unneeded service contracts on the car. That was still thousands higher than it should have been ($18k in 2013). Lesson learned, he now has a different car, and a big personal loan to make up the difference he got taken for. Now he needs to sell this car fast. CarMax just did an outright buy offer of $6,500 as is. We have the certificate from CarMax attached. The car had a transmission issue, and Hyundai just put a new one in. It also has a new competition clutch package installed by a local transmission shop. Receipts available. We'd like to get his loan paid off and cover his selling costs, which is where the reserve price is set. CarMax had cars just like this without the hail damage listed in the $15-18k range.
