Vehicle Detail
1964 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible - 79,400 Original Miles - Numbers Matching Equipped with a 389 cu in V8, 303 hp, 4 barrel carburetor, Super Hydramatic 4 speed automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, factory correct 1964 eight lug wheels, trim rings, and center caps. I have proudly owned the car since 2007. The car starts, runs, drives, shifts, handles and stops FLAWLESSLY. This is a rust and dent free car with no bondo. It was repainted about 15 years ago using it's original color, Yorktown (Metallic) Blue. The paint looks great and shiny. The floor pans and trunk are in excellent condition and all body panels and the frame are solid. The original white factory leather interior is in very good condition with minimal normal wear. The white vinyl power convertible top is also in excellent condition and operates smoothly. All tires have decent treads. The car has the original trunk mat & tire jack, as well as original floor mats and reel out trunk light. The carpet was replaced before I purchased the car and remains in excellent condition with no holes. After searching for over 5 years, I was able to locate an extremely rare and highly desirable matching passenger side mirror which was a Pontiac dealer installed option during the1964 model year. The matching driver side mirror is remote. The radiator was re-cored 3 years ago and at that time, I replaced the heater core. I faithfully changed the oil and filter every 500 miles which is twice annually. I performed a complete tune up annually by replacing the plugs, ignition points, condenser, air and fuel filters, rotor, distributor cap & PCV valve. Yes...I "baby" the car. The last complete tune up was just performed in April 2015. The spark plug wires, as well as the votlage regulator, battery (including cables) radiator and heater hoses were replaced in 2012. The alternator was replaced in 2010. The engine compartment is clean and very presentable. The chrome and glass are also in very good condition. All emblems and badging are in tact with none missing. The factory Delco AM/FM radio works fine. Inconspicuously mounteed under the dash is a device that enables the playing of an iphone or mp3 player through the AM band. All interior dash dials and lights work fine and the lenses have no scratches...even the clock was refurbished and keeps accurate time! All exterior lights work properly with no cracks in the lenses. There is minimal oil seepage from what I believe to be originating at the main rear seal. The engine does not burn any oil. The original owner kept the car for 33 years, then sold it to the second owner who retained it for 10 years. It was then sold to a Pontiac collector / enthusiast who replaced the dual factory type exhaust, then decided that since his interests were more with GTOs and Catalinas than Bonnevilles, after a few months of ownership in 2007, he offered the car for sale. I jumped at the opportunity to purchase it, and have since been proud to own, drive, and show the car at local cruise nights. The car was assembled at the Linden, NJ plant during the second week of December 1963. Terms and Conditions: Deposit of US $2,000.00 is due via PayPal within 48 hours of auction close.
