This 2008 Hyundai Sonata GLS 4-door sedan has 94905 miles and has a body in nearly perfect condition and a very clean interior with no damage at all. It was purchased, as a certified pre-owned vehicle, in 2010, [with 54000 miles on it] by my father, from Grossinger Hyundai in Lincolnwood, Illinois, on the north/northwest end of Chicago. My father bought it for me and I am the only person who have driven it from July 2010 to the present. Title was placed in my name in March, 2012, following my father's passing. I have never had a passenger in the rear seat and only had a front-seat passenger approx. 20-25 times. It has not ever been dented or scratched and it has never needed any mechanical repairs, only regular maintenance including oil changes, brakes, tires & regular inspections. There is one ding which is a cracked right rear light casing, on the portion beyond the trunk door, when I was removing a file cabinet from the trunk [which is very roomy] and I hit the corner of the metal cabinet into the rear corner of the car. I have paid for the replacement parts at the dealership, Grossinger Hyundai and the service record showing this payment is in the glove box. All maintenance records are in the glove box. Speaking of gloves, I have treated this car with kid gloves, as I am a very conservative driver which means I never gun the engine, or brake hard or speed at all. The vehicle, through the past almost 5 years, has been driven exclusively in the northern suburbs of Chicago, with a handful of trips downtown and two trips to E. Lansing, Michigan, but that is all. The interior is both very clean and presents a sharper look than I had expected from a car known for reliability more than style. But I have learned, through my personal experience and talking with friends & colleagues, that one of the reasons for the recent huge popularity of Hyundai is that their vehicles have the reputation for reliability and longevity that is equal to Toyota & Honda while being more stylish, with more upscale-looking interiors. I had never been in a Hyundai when it was given to me and I love the stylish interior which is roomy enough for me [I am 6' 1" and >250lbs.] to keep me very comfortable and makes me feel like I'm driving a car that is certainly a higher grade than an "economy" car. The dashboard is accented with wood-grain look features including a thick strip that covers the entire width and gives a sharp, clean look to the interior. The 5-speed automatic transmission stick is on the center counsel, and the counsel has two closed compartments plus a 2-drink/bottle holder. At the front of the console is an open change-holder with a textured rubber bottom that is also a perfect place for my cell phone to sit while plugged-in to the charger. The charger is a separate outlet from the lighter. There is also a vertical change holder to have toll money at the ready. Additionally, there is also a closed small compartment just above the front console that has a wood-grain door, which is big enough for me to store several packs of gum and mints and paper money. Although I am mostly a radio-listener, the CD player works very well and gives plenty of volume without distortion, which is important to me as I love to blast my Beatles, Doors, Grateful Dead & Tom Petty CDs. In addition to an AM band that gives very good reception, there are two FM bands and also a XM band. There are tuning & volume controls also on the steering wheel, which also has cruise-control. The lights are controlled at the end of the turn-signal stick. The wipers are in very good condition and the control has a variable delay for as long as 10 seconds between sweeps. The windshield washer covers the entire windshield so that removing dust or dirt to get a very clean view takes only 2-3 seconds. There are interior buttons for opening the fuel door and the trunk, and the push-button remote control devise also has a trunk-open button. In addition to power locks [with a push-button devise on the keychain that also has an alarm button] and a power driver's seat, both exterior mirrors are controlled by the driver through a power devise. The driver can also keep control of all windows, locking any in whatever position is desired so that children riding in the rear seats cannot play with the windows. Further, unlike many cars where the rear windows do not fully open, these rear windows do open fully! The mirrors on the sunshades are lighted and there are three additional overhead lights above the dashboard in addition to the light on the ceiling. There has never been any smoking in the car, which has no odors or aromas, simply the clean "car aroma." Additionally, the rear seats have ample leg room, as I have sat in them just to see for myself. I wish I was not having to sell my car. I am selling it for one reason: spending four years taking care of my parents, for the last years of their lives, left me in a terrible financial condition because I could not work during all that time. So I need to sell the car just because I need the money. But at least I know that this car is going to give someone great pleasure for years to come. I hope that whomever buys it will keep it in good condition for doing so is very easy as it is a very low-maintenance car. Although I knew nothing about Hyundai when I first got this car in 2010, I have never had a more reliable and comfortable car and when I can afford to get a nice car again it will definitely be a Hyundai, most likely a Sonata.
