If you like the W124 with the OM 603 diesel engine, you'll love this OM602 turbodiesel variant with 5 cylinders. We've had this car since 2007 & it's been hands down the most reliable, trouble free car I've ever owned. Cylinder head was renewed shortly after I acquired it with 182,000 miles on the clock. Injection pump was replaced with a new unit from Germany at about the same time. Lots of other routine & not so routine maintenance. Shocks were replaced last year with new Bilstein Comforts. I've gotten as much as 33mpg out of it; 30+ can be expected on the highway if its driven reasonably conservatively, otherwise around 28. I wouldn't hesitate to head out in it cross country tomorrow. It's completely rust free & everything works as intended. Tires are at approximately 50% wear.
