Vehicle Detail
Head-Turning 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback 289 C-Code I bought this Mustang from a friend in 2012. This has been a Southwest car going as far back as we can find. Service receipts for the past 15 years are all in AZ and New Mexico. I can't find rust anywhere. I've driven about 800 miles over the past few years. Just hit 90K miles. Car sounds tough and runs strong. Air conditioning blows cold. Engine runs cool even with the A/C on in the Arizona summer. Since I've had it... New A/C condenser Replaced A/C Compressor clutch and brushesNew 4-Row Champion Aluminum RadiatorNew 6-blade radiator fan bladeNew battery (this year)Front & rear brake jobReplaced wheel bearingsReplaced front & rear wheel cylindersReplaced fuel pump4 wheel alignmentNew front & rear shocksReplaced distributor cap & rotorReplaced oil pan gasketReplaced oil pressure switchReplaced transmission mountReplaced rear pinion sealReplaced transmission cooler linesReplaced front sway bar bushings and sway bar links I hate to see her go but need to make room in the garage. This 50th anniversary car has not been restored and is by no means perfect, but an absolute blast to drive & show off! Some items of note... There is a small scrape (about 1") on the passenger rear fender (shown in photo) that could use a little black touch-up paint. The passenger-side front seat bottom is getting loose at the seams. There is a small tear in the carpet in front of the shifter (shown in photo). If been sitting a while, it sometimes takes a few turns of the key to start (but she always starts!). A new carburetor (about $350) or carburetor rebuild down the road will surely do the trick. Always garaged, the paint is glossy and looks great. This car turns heads and will not disappoint! Hoping she finds a good new home. A very fair Buy It Now Price has been set at $25,000. A dry-climate fastback with A/C is a rare find. Don't wait 'til the last minute and let this one slip away! Let me know if you have any questions. Good luck.
