Vehicle Detail

Rare find a real classic carHere is the famous 1989 Toyota Celica GT-S with a DOHC 2.0 L engine (3S-GELC) featuring T-VIS and a 6800 rpm redline producing 135 hp (101 kW) at 6000 rpm and 125 ft-lbs of torque at 4800 rpm.She is a thinly disguised race car that needs some TLC.My brother bought it as a project car it runs, drives, shifts, stops, and you can drive it home. It has a PA sticker from less than a year ago. However in Maine it's considered an antique and does not require an inspection sticker. We have fixed the exhaust, front end and had an alignment and lots of little things. The car needs some TLC. But it's a great project - fix this car up for Summer cruising :)It needs :1. Vacuum hoses inspected, one must need to be replaced and it's causing the car to idle high. 2. Transmission mount3. Rear struts 4. Power steering pump5. Passenger door needs to be fixed, the window won't stay up. 6. A little body work. 7. One headlight needs it's motor replaced, but I can prop it up manually. Because the power steering pump needs to be replaced, the car steers kinda hard, but it is driveable. I have a key that fits the ignition, but not the doors. I've been told that the locking mechanism in the passenger door has a code inscribed on it, and if you tell the dealer this code you can get a new key from the dealer. I could not figure out how to disassemble the door all the way and gave up. The car was recently checked out at Meineke in Auburn when they replaced the muffler. Nick over there basically told me the car is not bad, it's fixable. It's not rotted out. I am a computer repair guy, not a mechanic LOL. I was going to have it fixed up for Spring but I decided to divert funds to another project. Honestly I have over $1,000 invested - but I decided instead to get something I could camp in :)A mechanic could easily fix this car up and have a lot of fun in the Summer with it :)1989 Toyota Celica GTS liftback 138,000 milesHatchback 3 doorSunroof5-speed manual 2.0L L4 SOHC 8V.Vin : JT2ST65C6K7319878 On Apr-08-15 at 16:02:23 PDT, seller added the following information: "This is a DOHC 16V(not single 8V), and that's independent DOHC, special for the GT-S."
