Vehicle Detail
1969 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. The 1969 model year is very sought after for Karmann Ghias- it's the last year for the small tail lights, and also has the independent rear suspension (IRS) instead of the older swing axles. Car is mostly complete, but needs body/ rust repair before it can be driven. The car comes with many reproduction body panels from Airhead parts, as seen in the pictures. These include:New right and left floor pansNew headlight bucketsNew driver's side rocker panelPatch panels for behind the rear wheelsPatch panels for in front of rear wheelsNew seat bracketsBasically, every patch panel for every major area of rust on the car. There's at least $500 in patch panels alone, included with the car. The front bumper is off the car, but included with the car. The driver and passenger seat have also been removed, but go with the car. There's a box full of trim (grilles, hubcaps, trim rings, little interior bits) and hardware, all bagged up. The car rolls, and the tires hold air. The engine turns over freely- it did run a few years ago, but when I connected a battery to it recently the starter wouldn't turn with the ignition switch. I didn't investigate any further. The gearbox goes into all gears, and the steering works fine. All glass on the car is good, the side windows roll up and down fine, and the doors open and shut without any problem. The hood and engine cover open and close fine, and the hood release latch works. The tail light lenses are brand new. The gas tank is in good shape. Despite the rust, the backbone of this car is strong- the car doesn't sag or anything when the doors are opened, and the suspension points are solid. I've included as many pictures as possible to show the current condition of the car, so there aren't any surprises for the winning bidder. If you have any questions, please ask. In-person inspection is encouraged. The car has a CLEAR title ready to transfer to the new owner. I am flexible with pick-up of the car, provided it is paid for I can hold onto it for a few weeks while the buyer arranges to come pick it up or have it shipped. Vehicle must be trailered, it is not currently driveable. Thanks for looking!
