I bought this bike from the second owner who owned it from the 70s. He only rode it around the neighborhood a couple times a year. I went through the bike from tip to tail to get the bike roadworthy. The motor and transmission are tight and quiet, hardly broken in. Honda only made the CB400F for three years. They had some cool features such as a 6-speed transmission, low bars, rearset pegs, and a super-cool 4 into 1 exhaust. They are collectible and getting harder to find in nice condition. The first owner had cut the seat foam down, so I found a NOS Honda seat ($$). He had also put incorrect handlebars on and sprayed the tank black. I had the tank professionally repainted and put the correct handlebars on. The forks leaked, the front brake was sticky, and the rectifier was dead (in true Honda fashion). I addressed every issue that you are likely to find on a 40 year old bike. The bike runs and looks beautiful. Ride it or show it off. No disappointments here.
