If your looking to buy a true classic Toyota FJ 40 Land Cruiser as a vehicle to drive and enjoy everyday or part time read on. This FJ is very original and still maintains all it's Toyota running gear under it. The motor is the original 2F straight 6 under the hood. Motor still fitted with the factory smog stuff. I just install a new OEM rebuilt smog pump in place of the original one, it gave up after 38 years of spinning in a circle. $350.00 for a OEM Air Pump = Toyota is proud of that smog pump but wanted to keep as OEM original pump in place under hood. It's a very nice looking body "unmolested body and motor bay and it's 38 years old". This FJ has never been a mud truck or rock crawler . FJ is not a body off, nut and bolt restoration. " It's still very original today and has not been (neglected or abused ) over the past 38 years. So a full restoration has never been needed or required of this vehicle and is (not needed). You don't nut and bolt restore something that is good - you refurbish and repair it as needed to keep it in outstanding running and working order. FJ has been serviced /maintained and well cared for over the past 38 years. Adult owned and Adult driven. This FJ shows no sign of any hard off road or driving abuse at all. The Body is very straight and very original and has not been cut up or covered in diamond plate like many of them over the years. ( Original solid type survivor) No rust and has never lived in area's that salt roads. One of the nicest body's I have ever seen on survivor type FJ in the past 40 plus years of owning FJ 40. This FJ was just repainted on the "outside body only" for the first time in the past 38 years. I do have a few photos of the FJ with the original paint on it and did post one of the photo's to the listing. Look at the Photo of driver side front fender area to see what the original paint looked like on body before paint. The original body was very nice and the original paint was just faded out real bad being 38 year old. Original factory single stage paint won't weather good over 38 year's. No body damage to FJ, a true well cared for survivor! I did not want the original body to be exposed to future weather elements and damage the original body in any way "having weak 38 year old paint on it's exterior". So it was painted less than 30 days ago in the same original factory color of Sky Blue - Toyota Factory paint code - 854 (Factory ID tag showing paint code still on fender). It's a very fun FJ to drive and every one in town will compliant you on how nice and original "classic and sanitary it look's". I did not buy this FJ new off the show room. I was not standing next to it on the factory assembly line. So I can't confirm the miles to be a Actual Miles due to it's age. However the original Spedo and odo work and it reads 75904.2 . The title is also issued as Actual miles from the transfer of the prior title inspected and issued by DMV . But what I can tell you from owning many FJ 40 over the past 40 plus year's is that this FJ shows very little ware or abuse as you would find in a lower mileage vehicle. The motor bay area has not been painted and the fire wall and inside fender wells still retain the original paint ( fire wall not painted and shows little ware =SEE PHOTOS and VIDEO of original paint. Everything under the hood is still very respectable 38 years later. The motor and motor bay area very original and unmolested. The inside of FJ has not been re painted and shows very little ware on the original paint inside of vehicle for it's age. The headliner is still original as the rear jump seats . The Inside of hard top and hard doors also still retain the ( original paint ). Paint work was (only required on outside body) to insure body metal is sealed and kept safe from the elements and to preserve the body for many years to come. The front original factory bucket seat had a rip in the seem area so they where repaired. The inside floor pans looked solid - one small repair required passenger side front floor foot area. It was fixed and sealed correct. Original paint on floors but "scuffed up" and "scratched" as you would expect for a 38 year old FJ with painted floor. Scuffed paint and exposed metal will form rust over time. So the inside floor pans where cleaned and then re finished and treated in a line X to seal and water proof / protect them for many years to come = maintenance item - not restoration item. Very nice / solid floor pan's ! FJ. Front door's, back door, gas cap. lock with keys. The original motor is very reliable and runs great, It purrs like a cat. Start's first turn of the key every time - Idles nice - no misses - no rattles - good oil pressure and the temp stays at 180 deg. The Motor runs cool even with AIR CONDUCTION on in the hot desert 115 deg weather. The motor is also a survivor and original to the FJ. Motor will use about 1/2 a quart of oil between oil change at 3.000 miles. The Norm you will find in any 75,000 mile Toyota 2F - straight 6 motor.) Like I said I have owned many FJ over the years and the (2F motor in this FJ is work horse of the Toyota motor's). Motor is tight and reliable. It's not out of the norm for a Toyota 2F motor to runs 150,000 to 250,000 miles before a re build is even required. Motor will puff a bit of white smoke if it sits and is cold starting. After that it burns nice and clean = SEE VIDEO of Motor running / Exhaust / and Driving of FJ = it burns clean! I would not be concerned about the motor or running gear in this FJ and enjoy it just like it is. Any repair's required of this FJ have been done as needed to insure reliability. It's reliable running and has great power and performance - run's very strong! Also no leaks any where under this FJ - The bottom side of this FJ is as dry as a bone. So I would say it fits the bill as a lower mile vehicle that is still very original. A FJ that has been maintained very well over the past 38 years. If you viewed and drove this FJ in person ( I believe you would come to the same conclusion I and many others have. It's a Survivor for sure! With that said If this FJ did have say 175,000 miles on it . Then this FJ need's to be put in a museum because it's would be one of the cleanest best looking - original fitted - running 175,000 FJ on this planet! This FJ also shifts great - down shifts great - stops great - drives great. Everything on it works great = SEE VIDEO. The factory 4 wheel drive works like it did the day it was sold new. No damage to vehicle - Frame is clean / Pans look good and Factory VIN number is also on frame. The bottom side showing minimal ware for a 38 years old 4 wheel drive. No scuff's in skid plate - No scuff's on bottom of front or rear end that you will find from going off road hard and bottoming out vehicle on rocks. Bottom side has also been cleaned and all metal parts have been seal treated to protect bottom side from any road driving elements driving it in the future. It's nice looking garage art for sure , But it was built to drive and enjoy. FJ is very reliable turn key and go first time every time. I have been driving it every day local and I just had it out last weekend on a long sight seeing road trip. No Issue's it ran and drove great ! Very fun to drive in the old classic FJ - and people love talking to you about it. Note to buyer, I'm not a big fan of power steering on the short wheel base FJ 40 when driving at higher highway speed's. FJ 40 become a little squirmy at higher speeds on the highway with (power steering). That's my opinion of driving them for the past 40 plus years. But I do have all the Toyota FJ 40 (Power steering parts to fit power steering on this FJ). Buyer get's Toyota factory FJ40 Power Steering box that bolt in place of factory box. Power steering pump with mounting bracket to motor. Power steering cooler and line. All power steering parts included in this sale. FJ is Garaged in Las Vegas at this time. All Factory Vin Numbers and VIN plates original to this FJ. One Vin Plate on drivers door frame - One ID tag plate on inside passenger side inner fender below battery. Factory Vin number is also on the frame passenger side behind front bumper = SEE VIDEO. Clean title and all factory Vin in place! Clear title to buyer when paid in full. This FJ was also cleaned up and cosmetically detailed top to bottom front to rear "after new paint work on the outside of body was done" to preserve the originality look of vehicle". FJ was also just serviced front to rear and turned up! It's turn key ready to enjoy On or Off road as it sit's for sale today. Vehicle is also For Sale (outside Ebay) so this listing will be removed early if FJ is sold. You just don't find Classic FJ this nice very often that still retain so many of the original parts that every thing still work's. It also looks great and it has Air Conduction that blows ice cold. I priced this FJ very fair and below it's retail value for FJ it is today. So the new buyer better love it.
