Up for sale is my 2003 BMW R1200CL , which i will truly miss when the new owner takes possession. Unfortunately i will owe the federal government a significant amount of money on April 15th which has forced me to sell one of my toys! I am the 2nd proud owner of this WAY COOL bike enjoying it for the last 5 years. In August 2014 the dealer replaced the rear tire ($200) , new Battery ($190) , Front brake pads ($85) , valve adjustment recommended every 15,ooo miles ($70) which consequently was spot on the money! and oil and filter change ($30) This R1200CL runs amazing and is smooth as silk cruising the highway at 80Mph or country roads . It has heated seats with low and high temp settings for both driver and passenger + heated grips for driver (low/high setting), Cruise Control . Rear Shock is adjustable by simple rotary knob if you like a soft ride / firm ride or for when you take big mama on a cruise. This BMW came with a stock AM/FM stereo, and CD Changer in saddle bag which includes handle bar controls for volume and mode control . Last year the stereo LCD display blanked out and i am currently searching for a used replacement . I wanted to be able to play digital music from my smart cell phone so i had the a car stereo shop professionally install a 100 watt marine amplifier with separate volume control (see pic) and new high performance speakers . Presently you can hook up your phone or MP3 player via standard 1/8" mini jac and a Blue Tooth option is available. The stereo sound great even while cruising down the highway . Standard windshield offers great wind/weather protection and 2 years ago i purchased a custom sport 9" tall windshield ($165) which can be swapped out with 4 screws . ( see picture) ABS Brakes are as good as it gets with BMW servo hydraulic control which stops this bike on a dime! Due to opposing 180 degree cylinder design there are not a lot of highway foot peg offerings . I purchased a set of highway peg brackets (grey) which install on cylinder head with adjustable Harley Davidson pegs. I am a very tall guy and did not like where my feet were positioned , so i had a fab shop make a set of taller bracket currently installed.
