Vehicle Detail
MINIMAL RUST, COULD USE SOME NEW STRUTS, EXHAUST IS LOUD BUT GOOD JUST NEEDS TIGHTENED AND JOINTS WELEDED, EXHAUST ITSELF IS IN GOOD SHAPE. CAR GETS INSPECTED EVERY YEAR AS I DRIVE IT DAILY. AC/HEATER DOESN'T WORK, COMPRESSOR IS SHOT AND AS FAR AS THE HEATER IT GRAVITES HEAT BUT THE SWITCHES WON'T MOVE TO RUN THE FAN, AS I NEVER USED IT BECAUSE I NEVER DROVE IT IN THE COLD WEATHER. HEADLIGHTS HAVE TOGGLE SWITCHES TO RAISE THEM UP AND DOWN. THIS IS A FUN CAR TO DRIVE, HAS A NICE CHROME ILLUSION PAINT, RUNS GREAT, SEATS ARE GOOD AND PROTECTED WITH SEATCOVERS. THIS IS A EVERYDAY DRIVER. I BOUGHT IT RIGHT AFTER IT WAS PAINTED ABOUT 12 YEARS AGO, HAS NEVER BEEN IN SALT, SNOW RAIN OR ANYTHING HARSH SINCE I BOUGHT IT. I TOOK IT FOR A DRIVE ABOUT 5 DAYS AGO AS WE HAD SOME GOOD WEATHER. I KEEP IT IN THE GARAGE WITH TOP DOWN SO I CAN TAKE IT FOR A DRIVE WITH THE TOP DOWN ANYTIME I WANT IN GOOD WEATHER. GOOD CONVERTIBLE TOP I INSTALLED IT NEW RIGHT AFTER I BOUGHT IT AND HAVE TAKEN GOOD CARE OF IT. ENGINE AND INTERIOR IS CLEAN. I REMOVED THE VALVE COVER TO CHECK OUT THE LOOKS OF THE ENGINE ON THE INSIDE, SPOTLESS, NO CRUD, JUST A CLEAN WELL OILED VALVE TRAIN AND ENGINE. THE MILES ARE ACTUAL EXCEPT MAY HAVE A EXTRA 10 MILES OR SO BECAUSE THE SPEEDOMETER CABLE CAME LOSE ONCE. I REMOVED THE DUAL CARB SYSTEM AND INSTALLED A NEW SINGLE CARB MANIFOLD AND WATER PUMP COVER TO MATCH THE MANIFOLD. I HAVE THE EXTRA PARTS FROM CHANGING THIS TO A CALIFORNIA SPEC ENGINE WITH ONE SINGLE ZENITH STROMBERG CARBURETOR, OR MAYBE I SHOULD SAY ALL THE ORIGINAL PARTS IT HAD BEFORE MAKING THE CHANGE, EXCEPT FOR THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. ENGINE OIL IS CLEAN AND HAS ABOUT 1000 MILES ON THE OIL, I HAVE A NEW OILD FILTER FOR THE NEXT OIL CHANGE. SEATS MOVE BACK AND FORTH FREE. RADIO IS A PIONEER DIGITAL AM/FM CASSETTE BUT IT IS OLD AND NEEDS THE SWITCHES CLEANED AS THEY ARE DUSTY AND DIRTY AND DON'T OPERATE VERY EASY. COOLING SYSTEM IS GOOD, RUNS COOL BUT I ALSO HAVE THE EXTRA ELECTRIC FANS WIRED TO TOGGLES JUST IN CASE YOU NEED THEM IN SUPER HOT WEATHER, BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY, TRUST ME CHANGING A WATER PUMP ON THESE IS NO PIECE OF CAKE, I KNOW I HAVE DONE IT BEFORE ON A 1976 TR7 I USE TO OWN. FLOOR BOARDS ARE SOLID, DRIVERS WAS REPLACED WHEN IT WAS PAINTED. The only part that looked bad was the Trim that goes all the way across where the wipers are, it was never painted so I finally repainted it last summer, now all the car looks super. SOME UNDER CARRIAGE RUST BUT FIXABLE. CHROME ILLUSION PAINT ON BODY IS STILL GOOD, HAS A FEW BLISTERS ON THE HOOD BUT NOT BAD FOR A CAR PAINTED 12 YEARS AGO. 4 CYL. ENGINE IS A SMOOTH RUNNER AND I JUST TIMED IT BEFOR I PARKED IT IN THE GARAGE, ALSO INSTALLED NEW CAP, ROTOR, PLUGS, AND PLUG WIRES SOMETIME BACK. BRAKES AND CLUTCH WORK WELL, 5 SPEED TRANSMISSION WORKS WELL. THATS ABOUT IT, I THINK I COVERED EVERYTHING. I DO HAVE THE CHROME TRIM THAT GOES AROUND THE WINDSHIELD AND OTHER PARTS ALL IN THE TRUNK. TRUNK IS SPOTLESS ALSO. EVERYTHING WORKS AT THE MOMENT. YOU CAN DRIVE IT HOME IF YOU LIKE. IT NEEDS A CHOKE OR DIFFERENT CARB BECAUSE IT HAS THE CARB THAT HAS THE ELECTRONIC/ WATER CHOKE AND THE NEW SINGLE CARB MANIFOLD DOESN'T HAVE THE SENSOR FOR THAT HOOK UP. SO BUY A CHOKE OR ANOTHER CARB WITH A CHOKE AND MANUAL CHOKE CABLE. CAR DOES RUN FINE, BUT BEGINS TO START HARD WHEN IT GET BELOW 20 DEGREES. SUMMER TIME IT PURRS LIKE A KITTEN. I WOULD SHIP IT HOME SINCE IT IS WINTER BUT YOUR CHOICE. BUYER PAYS ALL SHIPPING CHARGES AND I WILL HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH SHIPPING OTHER THAN HELPING GET IT ON A TRAILOR. YOU HAVE TO PICK THE CAR UP AT MY HOME, YOU HAVE TO PICK IT UP WITHIN 30 DAYS OF THE $500,00 DEPOSIT BY PAYPAL AND THEN PAY THE REST IN CASH WHEN YOU PICK IT UP. ANY QUESTIONS EMAIL ME. IT IS A NICE CAR AND WELL WORTH THE MONEY I AM ASKING. THANKS AND CHECK OUT MY OTHER AUCTIONS PLEASE. YES THIS CAR HAS A CLEAR MISSOURI TITLE. WHEW THAT WAS A MOUTH FULL. :-)On Jan-25-15 at 13:06:01 PST, seller added the following information: Please note it has wheel covers not custom wheels and it is two different types of wheel covers On the car .Tr7heaven!On Jan-25-15 at 16:21:12 PST, seller added the following information: I felt I should explain a few things, I bought Nice wheel covers because they cost $30 for the set. I suggest new struts because the ride is rough over bumps, I did install new shocks. The exhaust system was new from a 1976 tr7 I owned, I removed it and put it on this 1980, has a couple joints so would be quite if it was welded at the joints, the exhaust has very few miles on it. I changed to a single carb because the back carb would get sediment in the float bowl ever so often and taking the carbs off was a pain. Now if it gets sediment in the carb float bowl you can drop the bowl clean it without taking off the carb, more space. All I have done since I got the car is make it better. I also bought a new standard wheel so it has a spare. I can drive this car now without worry of it not starting or worry of it breaking Down. I would drive it anywhere now and that is why I park it in the garage top down so I can cruise anytime I want. Tr7heaven!On Jan-27-15 at 14:12:04 PST, seller added the following information: If anyone wants pictures of the interior or under the hood let me know. Or if you want a general background of the car since I bought it 12 years ago let me know. I'm selling this TR7 because I received a mint Lincoln Mark VIII two Christmas's ago, guess you could say I found a new love. :-)On Jan-28-15 at 14:41:25 PST, seller added the following information: Well took the TR7 for a spin to a near by town today about 90 miles round trip. It cruised so well at 60 or 70 and then drop it into 5th gear and it just settles down to a quite ride except for the loud exhaust but just loud enough it sounds like a race car and drew in lots of looks with the Triumph TR7 plate on front. Yes who ever wins this car is going to be a happy camper. Going 70 I checked all the gauges temp gauge read about 1/4 scale and then got to about 1/3 scale by the time I reached my destination, this was with the engine fan only, I still had dual electric fans in front of the condenser/radiator for back up in super hot weather. it has been said these cars run hot, well not this one and I really think the change to a single carb which meant I had to changed the manifold and water pump cover made it a cooler running car. All gauges showed good, oil pressure gauge I installed running about 40 pounds pressure. For a minute I thought I can't let this beauty go, it runs so good and so much fun to drive, then I thought again, I'm going on 68 years of age time to let the British cars I have loved all my life go. Just wanted to let you know how enjoyable it is to drive this car. tr7heaven!
