Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 1999 Honda Civic CX Hatchback with a clear title in my name with 225,083 miles and counting. This vehicle is my commuter car but I have lost my job and need money to move forward. This car has a 1999 D16Y8 engine with VTEC from an EX model. It runs well but does consume a little oil. I just monitor the oil level and it hasn't let me down. The transmission is from the same EX model and it shifts smooth. The transmission has a leak. I replaced the gaskets on the Axle entry but it didn't stop the problem. The leak comes from the passenger side axle. Either my installation wasn't good or the gaskets from the transmission are bad. I didn't open the transmission because it works fine. I have driven the car from San Diego to Las Vegas and it drove fine. This car doesn't come with Air Conditioning or Power Steering option. I installed the following parts at 217,XXX miles: *NEW OEM Water Pump *NEW OEM Timing Belt *NEW OEM Fan Switch & Thermostat *NEW OEM Radiator hoses *NEW OEM Cam Seal, Crank Seal, O-Ring Gasket, Valve Cover Gasket, Oil Pan Gasket *NEW NGK Spark Plugs & Denso Spark Plug Wires *NEW Denso Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 (First Sensor) *NEW Aftermarket Clutch *NEW Front Brake Pads & Resurfaced Rotors *NEW Short Ram Intake (50 State C.A.R.B. Legal) *Upgraded Front Brakes to Larger EX/Si Size with EX Sway Bar (Just needs rear disc conversion since hatchbacks use the same Proportioning Valve as Si models) *Upgraded Climate Control from EX donor *Upgraded Front Seats from EX donor *Upgraded Cluster from EX donor (To have OEM look & RPMs) *Upgraded Center Console from EX donor *NEW Aftermarket Rear Bumper (Original was cracked bad) This Hatch received a Valve Adjustment right after I installed the parts listed above. It idles around 800 RPMs and it doesn't hesitate. The car passed smog back in July of 2014. Tags are paid for and are good until 12/2015. At the moment it will eventually need a catalytic converter but I changed this setup to EX/Si type (under the vehicle) so it should be way cheaper to replace. I don't have a check engine light but I added a spacer to the 2nd Oxygen Sensor so the Catalytic Converter won't trip the Check Engine Light. This car has an OBD-2b engine harness from a 1999 Civic EX and P2P manual ECU from the same car. VTEC is hooked up already straight to the ecu. The car's exterior was in bad shape when I got it. The previous owner was sanding the body to prepare for a paint job. I didn't have the money to finish painting it. I decided to plastidip the car in black. It looks okay but a nice paint job would be best. No major dents but it has small dings here and there. The driver side headlight has a broken plastic piece on the inside but it isn't visible because it's in the engine compartment. The interior of this car is good considering most cars are trashed for this age. No rips in the carpet or seats but some stains are present. The rear cargo cover is missing but it still has a spare tire with jack and tools. It has JVC Head Unit (Plays CDs MP3 WMA files AUX) playing out to 2 Rear 6x9 speakers. No door speakers (Keeps thieves away). To the best of knowledge I have disclosed what I know about this car. This Civic is a great commuter car for anyone trying to get around with $25-$30 for a full tank of gas. This car is for sale locally SO I RESERVE the Right to end this auction early. However, like most sellers, I want the buyer to feel secure that this car will sell if it's posted until the end. Payment is expected in full 3 days after the auction ends. The car is located in San Diego, CA. If you want to inspect the vehicle before bidding contact me through email. If you have any questions please email me. If you are quite a distance away from San Diego, please email me with questions regarding pick up or shipping the vehicle. I can help with shipping the car but the buyer is responsible in inquiring and retaining a transportation company.
