Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE 1980 Porsche 911 / 930 Wide BodyOne Owner - EXCELLENT Condition - Never Wrecked! This car was bought new by my father-in-law in 1980 in Seattle. He gave it to my daughter about 4 years ago – When his health deteriorated - She is now 9 – and we see no chance she’ll ever drive it, we’d like to have the garage space back, and we have only been driving it about 500-750 miles per year – So we’ve decided to sell it. I has about 110K total miles on the frame – about 10K since the full restoration It started life as a Carrera Targa - For the first several years it was a daily driver – but eventually became a garage queen – about 15 years ago he had the car completely disassembled purchased all Original Porsche parts and had it converted into a convertible wide body – no expense was spared – I think in the end he spent close to $40K on the conversion (in-sane I know….). Greg Selvidge out of Seattle managed the conversion and his shop did the body work - and he had a Seattle Porsche shop do the engine and transmission work. The engine, transmission, etc were all rebuilt – New interior, carpets, etc. were all replaced. He added the Turbo style Oil cooler, Rear wing, etc. – All Porsche OEM parts - The engine is NOT a turbo – he kept the original 3.2l fuel injection. All the Air conditioning lines, condenser, evaporators, etc were replace about 5 years ago. 6 months ago I had Exclusive Motor Werks (in Denver NC) go completely through the car – they removed the engine to replace some throttle bushings, replace the heat/noise shield, etc. as well as valve adjustments, oil, etc. Heat/Defrost, etc all work perfectly. Stereo equipment is a mix of stuff from over the years - Blaupunkt head unit – New JL Audio Amp and Door speakers (Separates) about 4 years ago from. It also still has the old school bass shakers under the seats that really help provide bass when the top is down…. I also have a box that has the original tools, jack, etc. It is a nicely optioned car - Full 6 way power seats both sides, power windows, A/C The car is in wonderful shape for a 1980 – although it is not perfect – there is a tinny ding in the hood (dented from the inside) that will come out via dent wizard, a small rub spot on the right rear corner of the rear bumper (Was done by the transport company when it was moved to NC), and a very small tear in the black rear bumper cover. The compressor also needs to be replaced on the A/C - $600 turn key according to Exclusive. The drivers seat has a small rub on the side from entry/exit (No tear). The tires while visually perfect are a bit hard from age – they are the originals from the full rebuild 15 years ago…. I am happy to answer any questions – I am not a big Porsche guy but can track down any details you need. David - 704-743-8889. My father-in-law has ah old style phone installed and they had taken out the ash tray to accommodate. The ash tray light is still in-tact - the ash tray just needs to be re-installed.
