1953 Chevrolet 3600 Rat Rod farm truck Runs and Drives Update: More pictures http://www.cosmicbusstop.com/uncategorized/1953-chevy-pictures/ Video: Get your own valid XHTML YouTube embed code As you can see in the video the underside is very good. The shock mounts and rails are solid. I couldn't get sound to work on my video, it runs good, the pedals squeak and everything rattles. It's an experience :) Steering feels tight, brakes stop you, it's a ratty pleasure to drive. There is a secondary key under the seat which kills all power directly from battery, and the original floor starter works great! This old farm truck was pulled from a barn in 2011, and was worked on till 2012 to make it drivable. It has 12v alternator, new brakes, all lighting done, new tires up front and good set in rear, and new original style vinyl over the seat. Engine is clean and painted red, unknown what work was done on it.. but it runs well. It appears to leak oil so I would guess it's not rebuilt. The 4 spd shifts well with no unusual whining. When starting out it has heavy rear end shake, so it probably needs either u-joints or drive-line work. If you start out in granny and get it moving it does not shake once in motion, it's been driven as-is to the post office and to get groceries. This is the only thing it needs fixed to be a comfortable driver as far as I have found. I did a 100 mile trip over a mountain to bring it home no problem! The frame is solid with no heavy rust. The sheet metal has some bad bondo work on the fenders, and some rusty spots here and there but it's in pretty good shape. The bed is a 1956 which has a 6" section added to the front which opens up as a toolbox. The bed floor is welded in diamond plate. This is a real deal back yard rat rod. It's a few steps away from being a really amazing ride. It draws crowds already! Some of the flat glass is broken. Both drivers and passenger window, a crack in drivers split window outside of view, and the central rear. BUT, the corners are in great shape! Flat glass is easy to find and replace. $500 deposit required, and the rest in cash on pick up. Title is unbranded and ready for a new owner. Athome2 Auctions We accept Paypal only.
