1974 Ford F-250 Ranger, 4 Wheel Drive, Camper Special 3/4 Ton F-250 Ranger with 390 V8 and C6 automatic transmission and 4 Wheel Drive. Original build sheet still under the bench seat in cab. AM/FM Radio works! All gauges, interior lights, exterior lights, etc. work. Original paint (with the exception of the passenger side door), original trim, all original glass, original interior (original bench seat with original upholstery in excellent condition under the seat cover shown in photos), original Ford 390 engine (no modifications done to engine - completely stock); This truck is somewhat of a hybrid between a 1974 and 1976. The body, interior, and engine are all original to the 1974, 2 wheel drive truck. The frame (to include the upgraded front disc brakes, and power steering), the suspension and the 4 wheel drive are from a 1976 F250 "highboy." The frame was completely refinished (media blasted and repainted) and the truck was fitted with new shocks and all new brake components front to rear. The 1974 body and engine was then mounted to this 1976 frame; in 1974 the 2 wheel drive trucks did not have front disc brakes or full power steering - additionally, the 4 wheel drive frame, with divorced transfer case, gives this truck the stance and factory lift that made the 'highboy' so desirable. As a benefit, the 1974, 2 wheel drive truck did not have an in-cab gas tank, unlike the 4 wheel drive models. This is also a benefit, as there is no gas tank in the cab behind the bench seat. This eliminates the possibility of fuel smell in the cab and leaks in the cab. It also opens up the space behind the seat for storage. There are no areas of rust-through on this truck.
