Vehicle Detail
1970 Buick Rivera with its all original 455 cu in (7.5 L) V8 rated at 370 horsepower (280 kW) gross, 245 hp (183 kW) net, and over 500 lb·ft (680 N·m) of torque.3-speed ST-400 automatic. The total '70 sales were only 37,366 units sold. A/C (not working.) The steering column was rebuilt back in 2010, it is the original tilt column. All power windows are working, the side and rear window does have window tint which was placed on them in 2013 by a professional tint company. No signs of any “bubbling affect” with the tint. This car has the optional side trim feature accenting the large coupe's flowing lines, includes the skirted rear wheels too. This car has been well maintained; the original engine was completely rebuilt in May 2011 from a well know engine rebuilder—we have the receipts—over 3,000.00 was spent. Newer Edelbrock 1411 - Performer Carburetor installed with elec. choke too. Newer water pump and alternator. Still has its original STAGE 1 ENGINE 455 INTAKE MANIFOLD B 1231718 E. The car starts cold with no problems, and she shifts great. The car maintains its original electric fuel pump; located in the fuel tank—this was factory installed. The power steering works well. A new radiator installed Sept 2013. The complete interior, except for the door panels, was installed Dec 2012, and over 500.00 in misc. parts for the interior were purchased in Nov 2011. The vinyl top was replaced in 2012. No rust was found under the old vinyl and the top was properly prepped prior to the new vinyl going on. Plus an additional 300 + in misc. parts receipts from 2011 – 2014 The power 4-way front bench seat works. All gauges work except for the clock. Car was equipped with cruise control; the dash switch has been removed. All interior and exterior lights work. The paint job was done around 7 years ago and it shows by slight oxidization. The original car color was a Burnished Saddle, you can see it in the trunk and door hinge areas. The color now is a light metallic brown. The car does have small areas where there is only primer, near the newer vinyl top rear trim area. This is where the vinyl installers scratched the paint causing surface rust to appear. So the owner sanded down the area and used primer to stop any rust (see pictures.) The car does not need an immediate paint job for it to be enjoyable as a driver. I would consider it to be a clean twenty-footer. After an extensive search with a high power magnet; I have found bondo only by the rear “body fin” near the LH rear light/trunk area—due to a small dent. I did not find bondo or rust anywhere else; literally nothing. No rust, no accidents, no frame damage—nothing. All floor pans and trunk pan is perfect. All original body panels. The undercarriage shows no signs of rust or of any accidents. The exhaust (from the collector piping back) and mufflers have been replaced. The floor pans, rocker panels, and trunk pan are rust free. The car has four wheel heavy duty (police) power drum brakes; and they work great. All four tires, and the spare, were purchased new in 2011 Cooper “Trendsetter SE” white walls; and all have very little wear.I do have a pile of receipts (from previous owners) for work performed.49487OH9294924 Buick94 Rivera87 2 dr.
