Vehicle Detail
I had every intention to restomod this car. I think it would look awesome with larger wheels and lowered a bit but another project came up and I decided to go that route. Remember that just about every mechanical part from a Chevelle can go on a Skylark so this car could be a really cool stealth ride. When I got the car it hadn't run in over 5 years. It was sitting in a garage. I oiled down the cylinders, changed the points, condensor, plugs, battery, master cylinder, and removed the old gas. The car starts right up and can be driven around. If the car had a current inspection and the brakes were checked I bet it would drive anywhere. The previous owner told me she had the engine rebuilt about a year before she stopped driving it and thinks she only put a few hundred miles on the rebuilt original engine but I'm going to be safe and say less than 1000 miles. These engines are a bit expensive to rebuild due to the limited number of parts around so if you wanted to reuse this engine that will be a huge saving, but if you wanted to pull it and drop in something larger then you can still have this to cruise around in until you get to that point of the restoration. And if you do intent to replace the engine you still have this engine if you want to return the car to stock one day or you can put it up for sale and have some extra cash. The car is pretty solid for a '67. It has very little body rot other than a few very small areas at the bottom of the quarters and fender. Those areas are not really soft but a bit raised so I would say they should be opened up and repaired. In the pictures I included both lower quarters and lower fender to try to show the small amount of rust but it doesn't show up well in the pictures. It is not rusted through, just raised bumps in the area. They are below the trim line so repairs will be easy. The trunk floor is shot and will need to be replaced and the trunk lid frame is gone at the lower edge but the skin looks good. I would just replace the lid with a donor lid but you could probably weld the lower section of the trunk frame in and repair it that way. Quarter windows both need new rollers but the glass is all good. The frame is very solid. The floors are solid too but do have a few smaller areas that will need to be patched but don't need to be replaced. The convertible top window came out at the zipper and the top has a few smaller tears so it will need to be replaced. The motor and cylinders look like they have been replaced so the convertible goes up and down perfectly and the top frame doesn't appear twisted or rotted. The radio is missing from the car but the dash has not been cut up so a replacement radio will fit in the original spot. The car is riding on 15" Buick rims. I took pictures of everything I could but if you need something not shown just ask. This is just a good little car that was well cared for over its life. I'm listing this as a 7 day auction so anyone interested will have enough time to look at the car in person. If you have any questions please ask before the last 24 hours of the auction so I have time to answer. This car is also listed locally so the auction can end at any time if a solid offer is made. Please don't ask for the reserve. I won't answer that question if asked. Car is sold as is and where it is. There are no warranties expressed or implied. Make sure you ask all questions or see the car in person if possible. Do not assume anything if you have not been given a definite answer. Shipping costs and arranging for shipping are the sole responsibility of the winning bidder. Winner must pay a non refundable deposit of $750 immediately at the end of the auction. Car must be paid in full, in cash, within three (3) days of the auction ending. Car must be removed from property no more than seven (7) days from the auction ending. Thanks and bid to win! I went online for a quick quote and the average seems to be about $500 for the transport from my zip to your's. The top is available from OPG for $281. There are more expensive tops and there are also kits available. Hope that helps, Joe - amxroc1
