Vehicle Detail
I am third owner of this great vette and have clear Florida title in hand. This car is an eye turner and has been a pleasure to own and drive over the years. I do not have the time to dedicate to a full restore which was my original intent when I purchased many tears ago. As is indicated form the pictures, the car has always been garaged and has not been through a restoration. I do drive the car locally and had it out this Thanksgiving week. OKay - so hear are the tings most people want to know about. The original engine was replaced prior to my owning and is from a '68 Chevy and is a small black V6 327 - 4 Speed. I did replaced the original carburetor and intake manifold about 5 years ago (both are still in y possession and will be sold with the car) to make it a more reliable weekend driver. There is a spare differential that comes with the car (would need to be rebuilt) as it came from the original seller. The fluids are changed four times per year and the plugs every six months. I do keep gasoline stabilizer in the tank (STABIL) to avoid gunking up the carb. All four brakes calipers and pads were purchased and changed about 4 years ago as was one of the brake lines. All replacement parts are replica- no current upgrades (other than intake/carb) have been made. I did change out the carpets and sun visors (adding replica replacement carpets and sun visors to repair worn originals- I will include the original sun visors which are in fair shape)). The car comes with two new factory front seat covers (in the current fawn beige color) that I have not had a chance to install. The drivers side seat has a small tear as a result of a spring coming lose. The spring will have to be repaired before installing the new cover. The car has an original 1961 Owners Manual (there are some water marks on the pages) and VIN Plate (which rivets have come loose causing plate to fall off the steering column but I have). The tires were replaced 4/5 years ago with era specific white walls and the original hubcaps are in great shape. The trunk has spare tire and jack with the original wood spare cover and trunk lining. The top is in great shape and was replaced prior to my original purchase. I never have the top up - as the car is only driven in nice weather. The interior is in good shape, but the interior door panels could use some attention/replacement parts. The wonderbar radio and clock are original but do not function. The chrome all around the car is original and has your basic pitting from being 50+ years old. The dual exhaust system was also replaced less than 4 years ago with factory replicas - and they sound and look great. With some elbow grease and small investments this could be a daily driver for someone. It is also a great restoration project should someone want to go the extra miles. Anyone in the area can contact me to drive the vehicle or to stop by an inspect. I am not looking for trades or deals so please only contact me with questions on the vehicle. I am happy to take specific pictures or send a video of me starting and driving the car which I will post for everyone on ebay. On Nov-30-14 at 10:06:27 PST, seller added the following information: For those that asked: The radiator was replaced 4 years ago with a top end replica and fluids have been maintained. The belts were also changed at that time and show no signs of wear. I added a clear inline fuel filter so I could easily see the quality of the gas running through to the carbs. This can easily be removed if the new owner desires. The parts that are missing that I am aware include: 1. original radiator overflow reservoir (removed with the original engine bu the radiator bag is original and still in place in the engine compartment; 2. the spark plug aluminum housing/shield for the rear of the engine. I never had this cover but have considered purchasing to really add some shine to the engine compartment; and 3. Thee fresh air intake hose that runs from the front bumper through the engine compartment and into the passenger side of the interior to draw in fresh air. The car also comes with an uncut original 61 key to accompany the single starter key and single trunk key. The key to the glove box is also included, but the latch does not fit properly and will need adjusting (it was changed out 2 years ago). The BUY IT NOW price is $35,000.00. The auction will be ended when that price is entered/met. Thanks for asking! On Nov-30-14 at 10:26:03 PST, seller added the following information: The car is located in Boca Raton, FL 33487 (where I live). I have tried to update the listing but it may take time for my address to overwrite my former home in Charleston, SC 29492. Please calculate on this ZIP. The address is verified by ebay.On Nov-30-14 at 14:23:19 PST, seller added the following information: Here are 87 pictures that include any and all scratches as well FRAME pictures that you have requested in emails. https://www.flickr.com/photos/129717632@N07/ On Nov-30-14 at 15:50:55 PST, seller added the following information: Video of the 61 Vette: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j534P869-D0&list=UUgFnRT-KxCCNYfI_94Ybuew
