Vehicle Detail

This listing is for a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro. It has Z/28 badging only. This is not a real Z/28! This car was purchased by me in spring 2008. What started as a freshen-up the engine project turned into a complete restoration. I have attempted to always use new parts to avoid future issues. While the list below may seem long, you can get an understanding of how this car was maintained. Since that time almost the entire car was rebuilt. Going through the receipts I have found the following: Body: The body was removed from the sub-frame. The sub-frame was sandblasted and painted. The body was discovered to be hiding some rust so almost all of the exterior panels were replaced by a professional body shop. New left fender with new 'Camaro' emblem New left fender extension New right fender with new 'Camaro' emblem New right fender extension New front header panel New front valance panel New hood ( 1969 cowl type) New radiator core support New cowl panel New left door with new weather stripping and handles and new outer mirror New left door latch New right door with new weather stripping and handles New right door latch New left 1/4 panel New right 1/4 panel New rear body panel New rear deck lid New front bumper New rear bumper New front grille with new front emblem New lamps ( headlights, all four marker lamps, rear tail lamps with new bezels) New front windshield with new front windshield moldings New rear glass moldings New rain gutter moldings New windshield washer nozzles New lock cylinders The body is painted Seafrost Green New Rear Spoiler New Trunk Mat Interior: The interior has been mostly refurbished. The dash has been repainted New dash pad New steering wheel and horn button New front seat covers New front seat belts New rear seat covers New headliner New rear sail panels New front 'A' pillar moldings New dome lamp lens New carpet New floor sill plates New floor shifter cable and new neutral safety switch New front door panels with new arm rests New interior door handles New rear interior side panels New window cranks New window sill moldings New radio faceplate bezel New center dash plate New center console plate and emblem New heater core with new heater core hoses New glove box emblem New dash knobs including headlamp switch knob, new wiper switch knob, new radio knobs, new ignition switch bezel New ignition switch Suspension: New front springs New upper and lower control arms New inner and outer tie-rod ends New center link New idler arm New power steering box New power steering pump New power steering hoses New front anti-sway bar bushings New rear springs with new bushings and shackles ( correct four leaf type) New front tires New rear tires New wheel trim rings New wheel center caps Engine: The engine was rebuilt less than 500 miles ago by Rock-n-roll Automotive. The small block 350 was punched .030 over. Flat top pistons were installed. The stock heads were reconditioned. The newer Holley carb was reinstalled and the newer Edelbrock aluminum intake was reinstalled. New pistons with new piston rings New main bearings New rod bearings New freeze plugs New cam bearings New camshaft New gasket set New radiator with new upper and lower hoses New water pump New spark plugs and new spark plug wires New alternator New engine mounts New starter New flywheel New battery cables New drive belts New Fuel Pump Exhaust: New exhaust headers New full dual exhaust with new mufflers Transmission: The TH350 transmission was rebuilt by Crystal Lake Transmissions with a new stock stall converter. New transmission cooling lines New transmission tail shaft mount Brakes: New dual piston master cylinder New brakes lines New rear brake shoes with new springs Miscellaneous: New wiper motor New Fuel Tank with New straps New Fuel Tank Sending Unit New Fuel lines Things to note: The rear axle has a 3.55 rear gear. It has a new pinion seal and new axle seals. The axle to the best of my knowledge is stock. The radio does not work. It does power on but only static comes out of the speakers. It is AM only and there is no antenna. The paint does have some imperfections as it has been several years in reassembly. Several small nicks and scratches have occurred. It is best to inspect the car prior to bidding. It has 1969 Z/28 valve covers that are not new. I recommend replacing them as they are not in great shape. The shifter was for a powerglide so the shift position indicator does not line up well. Owners manual is included Protect-o-plate is included!
