Up for sale is our Family's 1945 Willy's Jeep. It belonged to my wife's Uncle who passed away last year. He parked it in a shed and thru a cover on it and that's where its been for 30 to 40 years. Nobody in the family wanted it so to save it from the crusher I bought it and have it for sale. I had it listed on Craigslist and had a ton of calls. I had it sold and then another guy made an offer I could not refuse and then backed out at the last second and I just can't go thru all those phone calls again, so now here it is on ebay . I am not a jeep expert and know little to nothing about it. I will let the pictures speak for themselves. The year is 1945 The motor number is stamped CJ-2A, 205378 I believe everything is here and it is a complete unit. The jeep ran when he parked it but the motor does not turn over currently. The jeep ran when he parked it but the motor does not turn over currently.1945 Willy’s Jeep CJ-2AVIN: 11579 (10001 was the first Civilian Jeep produced and 11824 was the last 1945) Body Tag: 11579 Frame Tag: 11579 Engine Cast#: 5-1 (non-clock) 638632 W1 A N1-CR N2 (early production) Engine Serial#: CJ-2A 20537B (Should be +/- 10,000 of VIN to be Original and within 1-10%) (Engine number should be between 20422 and 22314) Head Date: 7-20 W6 Head Casting: 640161 (non-ribbed early production 1945) Transmission Shift: Column Tub ACM#1691 (10000 less than S/N, +/- 1500 or so) For CJ-2A The ACM tub number (if you have one) will be approx. 10000 less than serial number ◦The engine number will be roughly within 7-10% of the serial number (and accounting for the 10000 difference). - Engine numbers: Willys produced more engines than vehicles. The L-134 "Go-Devil" engine was used in many commercial applications besides CJ-2A (tractors, compressors, generators, welders, railroad cars, etc., etc). When these outside concerns wanted engines, Willys sold them from existing inventory. As a consequence, engine numbers "out-paced" vehicle Serial numbers, by anywhere from 1% (early in production) to 10% (late in production). Based on all the information gathered, I believe this entire jeep to be original matching numbers.
