Vehicle Detail
I got this car in a trade and I had intentions of building it myself, but lack of time and storage is forcing me to give it up. This car was stripped (likely to bare steel and sandblasted from the look of it,) and epoxy primed. There's no rust coming through the primer, making me think it was some pretty good quality high build epoxy. It's very complete down to the 16" artillery wheels. The 208ci straight 6cyl motor runs (currently fed by a gas can since tank needs repair). The clutch is very very weak but it does engage the transmission in all gears. The gas tank is currently out and needs repairing, but it is included. Interior is all there, but needs redone. Parts include new front windshield and rear glass and left rear door glass with gaskets. It still needs some other glass cut (it's all flat glass so should be cheap). Also included is a right front fender and a few other parts. Trunk floor is very very solid - no rust at all, the floor in the car seems to have been replaced/patched but its an amateur job at best, and personally i think it should be redone. The doors have some small rusted through areas as do some spots on the fenders, though over all it's solid. I assume the small rusted areas are a result of the sandblasting, since that always seems to happen. Though better to reveal the soft spots, and repair them now rather than not know about them and have to repair them in 5 years! Bumpers are in very good condition but they've been painted black tail lights are in excellent shape. The car also has a clear title The previous owner had bought this car originally to make it into a hot rod but after much work including new brakes, he decided it was too nice to cut up, which is about the point that I ended up getting it. Make no mistake, this car definitely needs to be restored, but it's worthy of it. It's got the potential to be a really striking car, or you could go the cheap route and do a few things to get it road-able again and have a fun rat rod to tool around in, though I think it's a nice, and solid enough car to warrant a proper resto, or a traditional hot rodding. I welcome any questions, and you are welcome to come take a look at it. I've tried to describe the car honestly since even though the reserve is super low, I don't want there to be confusion or disillusion to the cars as-is state, and physically seeing a car is always the best way to judge if its the right project for you. That said if you are too far to come look, ask the questions and I'll do my best to get them answered for ya! **See my other auctions. Loss of storage is forcing the sale of a bunch of projects and parts that I've accumulated over the last 40 years.
