Vehicle Detail

Too many projects and not enough space. 3 years ago, I got this from a friend (Chevy builder) who found it in a Morton building along with a Chevelle that he was buying. It had been there for 10 years. He purchased it on a whim. Called me (Ford Guy) to come take a look. I was impressed by the overall solidness of the car especially the motor compartment. Other than the typical battery tray area issues, this thing looked solid- much more than my 67 Mustang Coupe. The vehicle had been blasted and primered and had brand new re upholstered seats. At the time, I needed another project like I needed another a$$hole, but I took it against my better judgement. I just love old Fords. It has been in my garage ever since. I did pick up some extras along the way such as NOS fender skirts, original shop manual in very good condition, hub caps, 1965 grill (also included is the original 64 grill in fair but restorable condition, but I prefer the 65 grill), 1965 hood, dash trim and a 1967 200cid motor with 41,00 original miles from a 67 Falcon (NOT INCLUDED IN AUCTION) with the intention of someday getting started. But it's time to move on. Here's what I know about the car: Originally white with red interior, 170cid engine with auto trans. Over the years some previous owner put a manual trans in. No sign of ever being a race car. It was repainted blue at some point. Somebody cut a scoop into the original hood. It was patched up at some point. Since it had the typical rust on the underside lip, I found the 65 hood and had it media blasted. Nice and solid with a little bondo on top. The floors have been patched with sheet metal, probably before repro pans were available, but not a bad job. All the glass is intact, but can't get the right rear to close. The convertible top frame looks good overall, but I don't know much about rag tops. The cylinders and pump are intact, but we put 12 volts to it and the top didn't raise. The rear quarters need replacement with the left being the worst. Trunk area not bad overall, but a couple small areas need attention. Original gas tank. I have all the trim molding for the side and top (I think) but basically fair condition. The title is in the other guy's name and I never bothered to put it in my name, but is clear. I don't know about each particular state, so do your homework to see what you need to do to title it. This would make a great winter project to put on the road for spring. I prefer local pickup. Shipping OK but I've been told that loose parts are unacceptable, so if your shipper will not accept loose drive shaft, extra tires, etc. I'll get an actual UPS shipping cost for whatever else you want at an additional charge. I can get the vehicle to street level and the rest is on your shipper. I'll entertain a cash offer on the 200cid motor as well from local pickup buyer.. I also have a 1967 C4 trans in need of a rebuilt which I had planned on using. The wheels and tires on it are from the 67 Falcon. I have another set of wheels and tires- also included. I've done my best to document this vehicle with pictures and descriptions as best I can. I request that the vehicle be removed no more than 2 weeks after end of auction.
