Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE For Sale – 1977 Triumph Spitfire 1500. Burgundy Red with Tan Interior. Mileage is currently 38,965 (all original) and I have personally driven the last 2,000 miles since purchasing the car in June of 2010. I believe I am the 3rd owner of the car and purchased it from a father and son who were former mechanics and had put a fair amount of work into the car. Recent upgrades include: · New Front Brakes (calipers, disc’s and brake lines)· New Front Sway Bar· New Rear Drum Brake Pads· New Front Shocks and Coils· New Rear Shocks (not leaf spring)· New Webber Carburetor· New Starter Motor· New Master Cylinder and Slave· New Floor Pans (completed by previous owner)· New Floor Mats· Spare Parts (tons of spare parts…new fuel pump, oil and head gaskets, ignition coil, all replacement bulbs, switches, oil filters…you name it )· Tires Are Almost New, Including Full Spare· New and Original Service Manuals Included· New Full Car Cover (Tan) Car is a ton of fun to drive and runs very well. Starts easily in cold or warm if being driven, but sometimes takes a couple of pumps of the pedal when it has been idle for long periods of time. 4-speed transmission does not have the overdrive option, but will cruise happily at 65 on highway. This car has performance shocks on it and sits very low to the ground, enabling it to go around corners like a go-cart. While not the fastest machine on the road having only roughly 74HP, it sounds great as a result of a new Monza type exhaust. I will be transparent is saying the car isn’t as tight as the day it was bought as you would expect from a 35 year old British roadster. It probably needs a couple of rubber bushings replaced to get it back to peak condition, that’s my guess. Car was re painted at some point and so the paint is overall in good shape. There are a couple of scrapes and scratches around the car (most notably on front tip of hood) but no dents and or patches of rust. When polished up, car looks great and gets a lot of attention. All lines and seams are straight and I recently replace all rubber seals on the car. Seats of in good shape and free of holes, etc. Driver side window has a small area where they sand blasted by accident during re spray prep…but windows are never up. If you are looking for a fun, reliable Sunday driver (or daily driver for that matter) this is a great affordable option and one that is easy to work on. Multiple sources exist to get every part on this car (including body parts) so you won’t have to worry about replacing anything. Car is being sold locally and I reserve the right to end early. Feel free to email additional questions and I will respond quickly. Local pick only…if that is a deal breaker…we can talk. Upon successful completion of auction…a non-refundable $500 deposit must be received to honor sale…balance in cash or cashier check is fine Thank you for looking at my Triumph. Will be tough to let her go.
