Vehicle Detail

Austin Healey Bugeye, owned for 11 years ,Most everything was rebuilt. I bought it from a widow. Her husband had done the body and the paint, I bought the car in boxes and re-assembled it, with mostly new or rebuilt components. The car has : A wonderful, straight body with good red paint that lays very well. Zero rust- if it every had any- its gone now. .Rebuilt Engine- new front end- new interior including new seat pans and foam. New gas tank and lines and float. . New clutch and throw out bearing. New brakes, cylinders and brake tubing. Rebuilt shocks , rubber and Gaskets. New front grill . New switches with a complete wire harness. New tires and powder coated wheels. New wheel bearings, radiator, hoses, rebuilt carbs, new complete exhaust, rear middle brake light installed on the roll bar. New alternator. am/fm radio. Parts to flip hood to open from front. New rear bumpers, Most every component is new or rebuilt ---except I have no top. I do have an old , ratty top frame and old side curtains, I do have a front bumper that needs rechroming. Many misc parts Not show quality - but a good driver and a great looker, I "finished" it years ago and have driven it only, maybe 400 miles. Just too many things going on. It needs final detailing and some sorting still. Whats needs attention-finishing Engine timing cover seems to leak a little as does the cooling system somewhere in the Both easy fixes, but may require pulling the radiator to fix both. Carbs are not trimmed completely. The key switch does not work, (i used a toggle switch as a main switch) . Both the tach and the temp/oil gauge do not work. The hood is both sitting high and the hood fenders (wings) are slightly splayed from sitting for years on the ground after it was painted. I scratched the inner fender walls and the outer fenders trying to mount the hood by myself-over and over again. I never hooked up the alternator. Doors are not aligned as well as they can be.. Wiper motor was rebuilt but the wiper cables may be too tight, i never really focused on it. lastly, 2nd gear jumps out when you wind it out--( i was told the tranny was rebuilt (smooth sided) , obviously, not) Not a show car, but a super solid little car thats 98% done. . I also have 1275 ( i think) engine and trans. I also have a datsun trans (rivergate conversion) that i would sell for 400.00 to the new owner. The only exercise related to the car is me pushing it around in the garage. So, time to allow someone enjoy this little treat -very mixed emotions Car is located on the eastern shore of maryland (near Easton, Md) .
